Horrible latency, please help :(

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

I played Rocksmith for nearly 3 years without any latency issues. But, 2 months ago, I bought an audio interface to my home studio, and I use it as my main sound card now. But since then, I just can't play rocksmith because of the latency, it's unplayable with this nearly a second long delay. I tried everything, I changed the settings, and so on, but nothing. It didn't get better. Any ideas how can I fix the problem?

@@frentzen usb audio interface has larger latency over pci-e sound cards also it could be that you've got post processing on your sound so follow rocksmith latency guide and tell us if you still can't figure out the reason why :)

Well, I tried tweaking the settings a lot, in the game and in the .ini file too, with no change in the latency. It didn't get better, neither worse. I think the problems would be solved if I change back to my internal sound card every time I want to play Rocksmith, but I don't really want to plug everything in and out always. If I don't find other solution, I will have to do this, but I want to play with my audio interface if it's possible. If not, well, guess I will have to change the default sound card every time.

@@frentzen, get this app to see if you're capable of low latency streaming http://www.thesycon.de/eng/latency_check.shtml

show us your interface audio settings it should be 16 bit 48000Hz stereo no effects even eq applied monopoly mode on with that other checkbox on. you could set it to default and in ini set force default playback device

you could try messing around a bit more if you need it >_>

Out of curiosity, what is your interface?

Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2

It's perfect with my DAW (Reaper), no latency or anything. But rocksmith is unplayable with it.

@@frentzen here's links for you:
the guy got it to work but with delay https://www.reddit.com/r/rocksmith/comments/71cmfj/question_focusrite_scarlett_audio_interface_with/

some progress on scarlet https://www.reddit.com/r/rocksmith/comments/4t4zyf/rocksmith_with_focusrite_scarlett_2i4_audio/

maybe using mac you could get rid of the delay(since mac is build upon ASIO itself)

also focusrite it seems like suffers from DX drivers and latency in general so it would work flawlessly only with ASIO drivers so it may be that they just don't want to fix DX drivers I wonder if you're on win10 or win8 at all?

I'm using win7. I don't really want to change OS because of one game :D

Guess I will have to change back to the built-in sound card every time I want to play rocksmith.
