Have been having problems trying to get a video of me playing the customs I have made so I can put them in the thread when I get around to uploading them here. I have tried about 4 different freeware programs, sometimes I just get audio and sometimes nothing. One thing I have noticed is that when I start the recording my desktop shows fine but when I click on the minimized Rocksmith to make it full screen the video is just white. If anyone has any good programs to use that is either freeware or not that expensive it is much appreciated if ya share. Or if anyone knows if I am doing something wrong.

Also I only play the bass, so I cannot see the lead or rhythm guitar lines in the game.

I use bandicam.  Click the Video tab and under Record press the settings button.  Make sure "Record sound" is checked and for Primary Sound Device select "Stereo Mix".  If stereo mix is not an option you may click settings, right click in the white area and select "Show disabled devices.

Also, it has been said that this way doesn't work if you are using HDMI to send audio to your monitor speakers.

Funny, before I came back to the site I looked around some more for programs and found bandicam a few mins before reading your post Rock. Thanx for the advice about the settings and all :)

I've heard okay things about Bandicam but personally I use Fraps, I like it way better than anything I've used before.

Mothman is real and he sold me coke in a dimly lit JC Penney's.

Might have to give Fraps a try. Got Bandicam and I am having problems with it. First it seems that it will only record if Rocksmith is in windowed mode, don't know if the the alt + tab command messes with the programs ability to record. When I did record with Rocksmith in windowed mode I got a message from Rocksmith that my "Audio devices were unplugged" (I tried with and without headphones) and the recording was only about 3 seconds long. The one thing I do like about Bandicam is that it records the selected program and nothing else.

Ok think I figured out Bandicam and Fraps, guess I will have to try both and see which one I like better. Thanx Baker and Rock for the suggestions!

I'm trying to record with Bandicam and I got no sound on the video. On control panel show disabled devices don't show anything new like stereo mix. I can set audio exclusivity off in RS but it will not work if it doesn't record from stereo mix as I understand.

RS was already with Audio exclusivity off, I tried fraps with no success, it does not record sound, I tried with every sound option. It seems like I cant record with RS. Some time ago I tried with my laptop and when I clicked on show disabled devices it worked and displayed the stereo mixer but still couldn't record anything. I tried with Audacity to.

The only thing somehow different in m pc soundwise is that I'm not using a on board sound card, I have a external Line 6 GX.

From what I remember stereo mix didn't work in 2 cases: audio through HDMI and using an external sound card (what you have piepesado).

I bet if you go on bandicam or fraps forums you'll find the solution.
