last week at 17. may a great musician passed away, Chris Cornell, songwriter, singer and guitarero of Soundgarden and Audioslave. High time to catch up on playing one of his great songs as tribute. I chose a great and really fun to play song of Audioslave.

I did.  Very little. :D

Managed to play tonight with the aid of lots of micropore tape.  Kept missing one note on WATC in various places, but got a couple of improvements....

And.....not only did I manage to finish D&C for the first time, but I did it with no red X's!  Woo!!  :D

Ended up sticking to the silly painful charting, trying to play something different to what I see just throws me. :)

@@Rodman I had the same 75% score in my 1st run ;) My target is to play it with no purple section(s) - have 2+ in the outro and the little solo. A run with a mix of green and yellow and no red+purple would be nice.

Reposted rather than editing the previous broken link post. First 100% in score attack!

Chris Cornell/Soundgarden fan since seeing Black Hole Sun on Kerrang as a kid, got Super Unknown instantly, then my cousin picked up Badmotorfinger, then hearing Temple of the Dog/Pearl Jam, so then, as a RATM fan... Audioslave!!! Rah and they were savage too! A few years later I started earning my own proper money, so me and my cousin get tickets to see Aerosmith in Hyde Park, with Cornell opening solo! We're right down the front next to the catwalk out into the crowd, epic moment when he comes out with the mic stand across his shoulders belting out Jesus Christ Pose like a demon, the rain start pouring down which just made it better!! Then years go by... Soundgarden at Hyde Park opening for Sabbath, playing Super Unknown in full!!! So good!!

Agree with above posts, finding this one harder to score well than MC. Page's playing can be erratic/forgiving of mistakes, but you can't really do that with Queen!


P.S

Forgive my lack of celebrating my (tempory?!) MC 1st place, but I feel it was more handed to me by default than legitimately earned!!

That said, when I first joined, I told my friends I was gonna get top of this leaderboard... 6 months later I've actually done it! My playing has undoubtedly improved significantly, even in this relatively short time (i've been playing on/off for about 15years!!), as many of the songs I couldn't even finish in score attack, whereas now i'm getting regular gold.

Thanks to all organisers/competitors for giving me something to work towards. Keep it up.

Yep, I believe all of the above are ok.  You can even be in different categories for different paths.  (Constantly playing bass on a guitar will piss off the bassists, though.  ;) )

 

Then again, some of us just post anything we've done well on throughout the week, anyway. :lol:

Oh and tried Audioslave a few times too, but really didn't do it justice.  Love Audioslave though, so shall also be in my list of tracks I "must try harder" on. :)

@@NoonyDeloony made this one look fun, so I tried it out. Was 100% for the first long stretch, but I forgot how insane the solo was and got totally assassinated by it. xD

This was almost 100% too, except I missed the open E, of all things!

 

I was never super into any Chris Cornell band, but I appreciated his work. He had a great voice, and he deserved his success. It's a shame how mental illness can make even incredibly talented people undervalue their lives. :cry: RIP.
