It'd help if you were a bit more specific. Are you trying to use someone else's custom or your own?

 

If it's your own, try regenerating the file. There's a bug in the Toolkit, it doesn't always work the first time around.

I'm sorry, no they are files I downloaded off this site. I bought Albert King to have a doc to assoc it with in toolbox. Then copied it into the dlc folder.  I got a Dll file off Google and put that in the rs root file as per instructions. Load rs, find in learn song, select and go to tune guitar and then amps drop and that's it. Lock up until task manager gets me out.

Oh yeah, legal copy rs, steam account etc

Dam got the small Dll file and I still get amp freeze right after tuneing

Reapply the AppID of your DLC and then try to add one custom (and use different ones) to see if it works at all - if you've dl one broken custom, it freezes at the amps or the notes highway. And if you add new ones, I'd check if they all work (one-by-one), because you'll not find the broken ones when adding all at once and customs working before could be affected.

If you buy Cherub Rock you've a DLC most will use for a custom and you've not to change the AppID for every custom.

Cherub Rock came with most people's copies of the game, that's why it's being used as the app ID. You'll spare yourself a lot of hassle just buying the DLC.

OK thanks for the replys, off to steam to buy Cherub Rock, hope its not as gay as it sounds.

OK got Cherub Rock and redownloaded Landslide into DLC without doing the ToolBox thing.  Still Amp Freeze, GRRRRRRRRRR

Bought Cherub Rock Tried a bunch of different songs even got the patch and a new smaller DLL.  Still No Joy

 

What Next???

Looks like you have done everything that is needed. Hopefully you deleted the dll file you got from Google from your RS directory. The dll you want is 129kb. (size)

Thanks for helping, I'm no expert but I'm no noob either. I think I followed the instructions to the letter but I guess not somewhere. I have the right DLL, had to bypass Norton to get it.  Is the patch I downloaded necessary? It;s in the RS directory along with the new DLL.

When you'd to bypass Norton to get it make sure it does not block the dll, because it will not work without the dll. What happens if you disable your antivirus software?

Another thing you could try is repairing the local game cache and reinstall the dll.
