@@Rodman You find Geddy Lee's basslines straight forward? THAT's a new one. I was under the impression they were more complex than most basslines out there :P So fun to play though ^^

 

Hahahaha, yes, no - i was talking of straightforwardness on the listening side only :)

 

It might be a bit too much Mars Volta in my head but straightforward in a non monotonous way is exacty the feeling i get when Rush is on.

    Today I did a 10K run, I shoulda just held out to play Spirit of Radio because after 8 plays back to back I think I sweated more doing that :)

     

    Admittedly (fo' shame) I hadn't actually attempted to play Spirit of Radio on bass before, I just have it on vinyl... I always thought it'd be too hard but turns out, wasn't too bad at all, I think I'm getting a bit more widdley with the fretting fingers, and raking is a fun technique to use on this track :) I love this track even more now I can play it to a not too poo level.

    I'm managing the bends just fine on my heavy gauge strings.  It's just the rest of the song I'm struggling with.  :lol:

    @@missis sumner ,"operator error" seems to be the cause of most of my problems, what gauge strings are you using for this?

     

    My Amazon purchase history leads me to believe I'm using:

     

    "D'Addario EPS230 XL ProSteels Heavy (.055, .75, .90, .110) Electric Bass Guitar Strings", but they could be Rotosounds, so I'll check when I get home tonight.

     

    EDIT:  They are the D'Addarios.

    Worked on the MC a little. With all the different arpeg fills int his song, it takes a lot of effort to learn to do properly, and I just didn't have that much time to put effort in this week.
