The bends are killing my fingers - maybe I should use .09 strings for less pain or slapping the bass to transfer the pain to the other hand

I gave up on my two week experiment of changing the display setting to invert the strings.  My brain just couldn't make my fingers find the correct strings.  My string skipping on No Particular Place to Go (on bass, of course) immediately improved, but I still don't get the bass pattern during the guitar solos.  However, I definitely suck less with the normal setting restored.

 

No Particular Place to Go on bass 91%, but recovering nicely.

Ok, two questions from my side:

- Since i'm on the Leader board now, my understanding is, i should suggest a song for next week. If so, id the Suggestion thread the right place, or the Drive Document? And, should i only suggest a song for my class?

- What do the varying Typefaces for Names imply on the Leader board? There is Normal, grey and either with a star attached  :huh:

Your score counts in the class you're playing => where your name is in in black letters. If you post a score for the other class(es) it's entered in grey. Yeah, your scores are valid for your classes and classes above. If you win a class higher than yours you only get the award if you level up (which you can anytime, or happens automatically if you hit 99%+ guitarwise or 99.5%+ basswise on a 3/5/7 diff rated song according to the corresponding class), but in any case scores of your class and above are valid for the 10-weeks leaderboard.

 

Enter up to 4 songs of your choice into song selection list, rate it for lead/rhy/bass difficulty 1-10 and (esp. if you are an active player and because SSL is rather dry!!!) you will have your song up and playing in the coming weeks!

 

BTW: PLEASE ALL OF US: Fill up Song selection list!!!!

i must admit that this sounded shit, but the first time I tried this ages ago was 83% after quite a few attempts so i can't imagine how bad i used to sound  :ph34r:

I still can't play slap bass. If everyone else persists in 100%, I may post my 95% score, as long as it doesn't get me any points, just to stay in the MC championship.

I switched back to normal bass 34" scale length and have No Particular Place To Go up to 97%.

 

Just to do one track this is actually on this week's selection - JBG on bass 100%.

I say "slap bass" because although it was honestly played all the way through with thumb and forefinger, some of the slaps were more like strums...
