@@chickentacos right click the speakers in the bottom right of your screen on the desktop, click recording devices, right click -microphone Rocksmith USB guitar adaptor- and click on properties, click on the levels tab and adjust, see if that helps for a quick fix.

You're right; normally I have the level set to 100, but for some reason it had dropped down to 17.  I changed it back, hopefully it makes a difference : )

I think that there was a bug that was always dropping it to 17. Find "RocksmithConfiguration.pdf" file in your Rocksmith2014 directory, it has some tips what to do.
