Download RS toolkit and mono

Hello I am new to rocksmith and am looking to download some new songs.  I have read all of the instructions regarding the RS toolkit, injector, and mono.  When I try to the run the toolkit it says I need to download mono.  After downloading mono I tried to run the kit and it said my version of mono isn't up to date.  I keep repeating the process but am not getting anywhere.  Please help!
