Did you use the RSConvert utility  to change the cDLC songs appID/Song ID to the appID/Song ID of one of the DLCs that you already own?

I didn't. I may have overlooked this so sorry if it was obvious. Could you explain or link an explanation on how I could do that? My main question is if I'll lose the DLC song I already own by changing the appID. Thanks for the reply.

No. It just "borrows" the Song ID to make the cDLC play. (Has to be the Song/app ID of a legally owned / downloaded DLC). All the cDLC and that original DLC will share that ID.

I am not sure if this is the current version, It would take me longer to look, but I believe it is:

Got it. The "Change AppID" option defaults to 248750, which I imagine is the AppID for CherubRock. Is that it?
I can't buy this DLC from Steam anymore. I do have some DLCs I bought but how can I check their App ID? Thanks.

There are a couple different ways. One is there is a list floating around that has ALL Steam app id's.

My opinion, and solely my opinion, Find the oDLC that you have or are going to buy. IF it is one that you are going to purchase, the app id / song id is the end of the url.

The other is to use a search engine, and do a search for the no longer listed song that you have, pull it up in the browser, and again it will be in the the url.

i.e. https://store.steampowered.com/app/369783/Rocksmith_2014__Queen__Another_One_Bites_the_Dust/

369783 is the song ID for Queen,  Another One Bites the Dust.

My personal experience is that DuckDuckGo works better for pulling delisted songs than Google. Your experience may differ.

Edit:

https://steamdb.info/apps/

but Man, is it a long list to sort through.

That's super helpful. I used the appID for I Was Made For Lovin' You, by Kiss, and it worked. Thanks for the help!

Hola! I was able to get it working, I didn't have the song ID from a song I owned as the song ID for my files when converting the song to Mac.

I updated to Sonoma this weekend and now RS2014 is no longer working and is crashing on startup. I noticed that the instructions say the patch works up to Sonoma. Did I break my ability to use CDLC?

Edit:

I've deleted Steam and reinstalled

I've deleted RS and reinstalled

If I run before installing the patch it works.

I've downloaded the latest patch, and as soon as I install the patch, it bounces in the taskbar for a few seconds and then closes without doing anything.

you'd have to run through the setup process again.  changing os breaks the setup,  but it will work again if you follow the steps correctly again.

I believe I've done that all correctly, and it's still not working. I downloaded the latest patch, deleted my copy of RS and reinstalled through Steam, applied the patch and it still won't start up.

I'm on Sonoma 14.5 if that matters.

come visit the #mac-os channel on the Customsforge Discord, they may will be able to troubleshoot there.

Figured out what I was doing wrong. The "latest release" on github is 1.7. The required 1.8.2 release is "pre-release" so it only shows up if you click on the Releases label.

Dear all,

may anyone could help me?
I'm running Mac OS X Catalina, I've followed instruction as per Wepeel posted August 17, 2014, but I've encountered many issues.

  1. Legally downloaded Rocksmith and Cherub Rock song;
  2. Set patch files to read and write permissions for all users;
  3. Allowed their execution via System settings -> Security & privacy

Then:

  1. Run RUN_PATCH_RS.command and I get screenshot 1.png.
=> nothing happened. When I run Rocksmith, I can't see any cdlc.
  2. Run RUN_PATCH_RS.command once again. Yes, for all "continue anyway". A disk low warning appears, but I have more then 800GB free.
=> something happened. When I run Rocksmith it fails crashing with the message in 3.png.

I got this issues after Mac OS X reinstallation, before that I was able to play it without any problems.
I'm wondering if I am missing something or I got wrong versions (or older version) of patcher.

Thank you for your support and sorry for my English 😉
Dave.

This is an open warning for Mac users, anyone coming to this thread looking for help after updating their OS to 15.4.

As of April, updating Mac OS to 15.4 breaks Rocksmith 2014, and the two are not currently compatable. Rocksmith 2014 will not run at all. There is no fix as of this post; other than using a previous OS or Windows.

15.3.2 is the last working version of the OS that RS 2014 will work with.

Edit: Tahoe 26 Released Sept 15 supposedly is now a working Mac / Rocksmith update according to other users.

Yep, working for me too - I didn't need to re-load the patch. Thanks everybody.
