So bloody frustrating being in Aachen with no bloody guitar or computer. I guess I'll just have to drink the lovely beer and watch as the scores rise.

 

Back again :)

 

For the last 6 or 7 months I've been spending all my guitar playing time taking lessons and working towards my first proper guitar grade exam. 

 - the playing side was fairly straight forward (although I learned a lot about dynamics and 'feel'), but I was so far behind in things like scale knowledge, improvising and ear training that it was a lot of work and there wasn't any time left for rocksmithing.

 

Nice to get back to playing for fun for a while :)

Put in a little elbow grease, and boom - got the GoG closer to my expectations. Still god awful at the sweep picking, but everything else is sounding dandy!

Let's throw a decimal point up on Minerva too, as long as I'm in Eb:

I tuned down at Fripp's suggestion, but for some reason, no matter how cleanly I play that chord slide, it will not give me points for it...

And regarding none of these songs at all: My first forays at busking were of mixed success. On my first day, I made $24 in less than an hour, and that was with 20 minutes of talking to people. Now expecting double minimum wage for making music, I got comfy and did three hours of it the second time. The first hour, not a single person gave me a glance. But then I played Ending Credits (which does not even have words in it), and people rushed me with toonies after I finished! Ended up making the same amount that day in the end.

 

But it's not even about the money, really - I'm just having a good time performing in front of strangers again. I haven't been on a stage in years, and it's probably gonna be a while longer still, but busking gives me that same high. Also pays for my beer! :beer:

Well. Today I will not play. I just can't. Don't know what's going on with me. I'm just listening to last Yellowcard album. Last song again and again. And can't stop crying. I can't believe. Ten years. Ten years Yellowcard songs are playing in my ears and my heart. So much has happened in that time. Rises. Falls. Successes and Failures. Love. Pain.

I graduated from high school and went to college. And I finished it. 4 years I have been working full-time. I grew from stupid boy to man. From 17 to 27. I met my wife. We bought an apartment and a car together. We're gonna be parents soon. And I'm just sitting here and can't stop crying. Crying and singing by myself.

Damn. That music with me entire adult life. Even in the most difficult situations. The music supported me.

Time is flowing so fast.

I always seemed to miss some when playing the  g#m/c and it sounded pretty terrible almost like nails on a chalkboard haha. My strings feel and sound ancient witch did not help at all, needs to get some new xls. I'm not big on qotsa but ill probably shift my focus to that song so these old 10s can have some voice in estd

MC Lead - new song for me, really enjoying playing this. Few bits to improve and the last three or four sections to learn, but this will do for today.
