...I bought a second hand Epiphone Thunderbird a couple of years ago. It's ok but goes a bit strange after the 12th fret, especially on anything but standard tuning...... I have to compensate by hitting the wrong fret to get the right register...

That's probably an intonation issue.  Old farts like us are from a generation that remembers how to use hand tools.  If you have an electronic tuner and some allen (hex) keys, you should be able to intonate your bass by yourself in 15 minutes.

if so is there an idiots guide on how to do it ?

Thanks @@2groggy I'll try this later, I have done it on my other guitars but never bothered on the bass as there haven't been many songs that go down or up to the 12-14 fret range.

 

the intonation didn't seem that bad on the E standard tuning but the D really throws it out.

No.  The DLL only works on PC.

 

You need the new RSInjector app.  There's a link to it on page 12 of the red highlighted thread above.  However, it may or may not work with your OS.  It needs 10.8 and above to run (that's me out…) and there are reports that it doesn't work with Sierra.

No doubt about that... just i really have my fingers crossed there is no bitter end,

and i hope @@missis sumner and possible other mac players on the "wrong os" (aren´t they all???) version will be in the boat really soon.

I don't expect my 355% to count for anything. It's just the Mastery % which is all screwed up. Seems to be a glitch whith the update. I played it in SA and the accuracy and note streak seem to be working fine.

Hope you Mac-ers get sorted soon!

Im not feeling like practicing this week's MC song. Its a bit hard for me and it doesnt sound good especially with the solo.

Well. My first attempt in SA after RR and RR and RR.

I can play all the parts seperately but can't put 'em together yet.

I still play hammer ons and pull offs as ordinary note. That's hard to get rid of that stupid habbit.
