Sound distorted on new laptop?

Hey :)

I've recently installed Rocksmith 2014 on a new laptop (Asus Aspire V17), and as soon as I plug in the cable, the sound gets very distorted. I've tested it on my old computer, and it works just fine there. Has anyone had any similar problems or suggestions for fixing it? :)
