@@Vodka, it's the opposite case than ThugRaven said, your bends are too strong. This bends are only quarter steps, only a half half. Try to bend them very very slight. Your bends sounding like a half step or more. If you play a light string cauge you have to be more careful about that. I made a little vid that may help. Also try to slow down in RR and focus on the bend strength. good luck

Well, that's certainly impressive, well at least I did good for a 15 year old.

After ignoring wrist pain for several days and continuing to play I'm now sitting in considerable pain after playing earlier today.  It's going to kill me to rest it, but for it to be hurting now while not even doing anything....I get the message, body, gahhh!  :(

Are you working too hard?  By "too hard", I mean fretting and plucking with the iron-fisted-white-knuckle-grip-of-death.  You only need to fret hard enough to make the note sound clean.  Fretting too hard will only pull the notes sharp and waste energy.  Plucking too hard will only increase fret buzz.  Work on using a lighter touch and not only can you play longer before getting tired, but you will be able to improve your speed and tone too.

If you want to be louder, you can just turn up the volume without actually working any harder.

Thanks @@2groggy.  I don't believe I'm working too hard, I can play for long periods now without feeling tired.  What I do have a big problem with is having very small hands and trying to span 4 frets on a bass.  I can only JUST reach that 4th fret with my pinky and I feeeeel it!  I'm stretching before playing and regularly throughout the day, but nothing's going to magically grow me bigger appendages, no matter what those emails said.     So I've been adapting how I play and it's probably very far from the ideal technique.

Had been considering getting a tutor for a while to correct my rookie techniques early on, I think that's going to be a certainty now.

I'm not a native English speaker. Sorry for mistakes.

Last nights improvements concentrating on the Riverboat song only.......

Lead scores depend on hitting the purple and green strings at the right time on the right frets and the double orange + green string bends, as the 'Da Da DaDa Da Da' bit is now second nature after playing it so many bloody times.

but getting there.....

iue7k2110xaol236g.jpgRhythm is a bit easier and I could do better (and still might) but happy with this score beating my previous best by loads....

wi8u2fa3iejdh4p6g.jpgfinally the wrist breaking bass, a true test of stamina, grit and determination......... unlike @@Fraggle Baggle I have large hands but stubby fat pork sausage fingers so I understand the work involved to get a good score.

i also blame my fingers for not being able to do solos as when i place my finger skilfully on the fret i want on exactly the string i want it also touches the strings either side....which i don't want.

not such a problem on bass, which is probably why my bass scores are usually reasonable.

t99wtnxh5kok8os6g.jpg

still got today........

@@Fraggle Baggle, don't stretch! You can microshift your hand placement so instead of contorting your pinky to extremes a little shift of the hand will relive that pain pretty quickly. I have freakishly large hands but occasionally I did have pinky trouble when playing tracks like "full steam space machine" , "danger danger! (High voltage)" and "two door cinema club's, what you know". My pinky still flicks out from time to time from over stretching but when I do practice those three tracks microshifting the fret hand is a lot more energy efficient. Give those songs a try at about 75% speed while you get used to moving your fret hand between the frets on the repetitive notes. :) hope it helps a bit.
