How to change the area of the fretboard that is shown

Hey all, new to making customs, and I had a question. How to I change the amount of the fretboard that is shown at any one time in game. Right now on one of the customs that I'm working on, it shows 1st fret - like 12th fret the entire time, which makes it really hard to see what fret(s) you should be on. How can I make it so it shows, say, only frets 3-8 or something like that, so it's more clear which fret to be on?

Thanks for the help,

Add sections and phrases.  Here is a simple tutorial, though there are many others too.

Look at the tutorial.

A short explanation would be to think of the game having a zoom camera.  It zooms in and out to accomodate the notes (frets) that it is playing at any given time.  You can control this using simple tricks when building your custom(s).

Sections control the zoom camera.

Sections also control Riff Repeater.

Look at the tutorial and implement the desired effect to your own taste.

Using DD greatly enhances the zoom camera effect.

Enjoy :D
