I was interested in trying out the championship but i didnt understand the rules 100% can i choose freely what level i choose? or di i have to work my way up?

@ You can choose what level you want for each arrangement :)

its amazing what improvements can be made by playing over and over again, it also helps if the song is fun to play, here is my first screens of the week.... Flatliner's Lead.....buggered up a bit on the chords and the 7-8-10 bit...

 

 

Flatliners Rhythm, still need to sort out a chord then i think i can be up in the higher nineties, great fun....

 

still dreading the Amorphis song though   :ph34r:

This week (and maybe next) I'll take a break due to an ankle sprain. It is very uncomfortable to play guitar well with the sling. Anyways, I don´t have enought time for guitar because I'm at exam period, so yeah, basically I'm fcked...

I agree that it's not really a beginner rhythm. Solo can be ok for lead but it is too much for rhythm. So 4.

I also think that Flatliners rhythm is 3 :P

Small improvement on the Int Lead.........

 

And i finally tuned the old Thunderbird to D for a go at the Amorphous song, i still think the singer has laryngitis or something...... but heres my first attempt (a lot of notes didn't register as my bass hates being buggered about withy the 'D' tuning) it seems to take a while to settle 

 

 

 

I think i could get more on these but time is passing and i'm running out of it.

Hi, could someone tell me how to get a song onto the song selection list please.

 

I'd like to suggest a couple but I'd be shit at suggesting a rating as most songs are 10's to me and I only manage to get a decent score if I play it 20-30 times........ How you guys get high 90's on the first run is beyond me.

Just fill in the columns here, anyone can edit it! Don't worry too hard about not being able to accurately assess the difficulty of a song - that's a collective effort anyway. But do make sure that on top of being a good tune that it has a good custom.

 

Getting 90s on the first run is something that comes with experience. I'm honestly surprised I can do it myself sometimes. As you improve at guitar, you will see patterns in the new melodies you learn, and your brain will be condense the same amount of information into a smaller space. This lets you read new information more efficiently.

 

When I see a new song, within the first few seconds of playing it, I will draw parallels to other riffs I already know. Even if I've never heard it before, I know how to play a thing or two that's in the same key, or uses the same intervals. Just keep on trucking and you'll get there too.

All I can say about this week and work is TFIF!  If I can get through today without handing in my resignation, it'll be a success.

 

Seriously, it's been impacting on my bass playing time.  And that's not good.
