When I start playing it's really bad. It seems to subside the longer I play. It's only when I play the strings. I tried recalibration without my feet touching the carpet. Making sure the cord isn't touching the carpet. I taped the connector together so it doesn't get loose.

Anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it?

It's something to do with the cable. I taped the connector end to the wall right by the pc to where that part of the cable is horizontal to the floor. So those connector areas are hanging there with little pull on them. And the static went way down. There's still some when I first start playing but it fades gradually. Which sounds like a grounding issue. I'm moving in about a month and the next room won't have carpet so I'm hoping that helps it. I'm praying it isn't a bad cable. I've only had it 6 months and treated it like it's made of gold because I know I can't play without it. From researching this issue I've read a lot of stories about bad cables. Knowing my luck.....

Fortunately, cables aren't all that expensive :)
