There's no hope for improvement on Dan! Dan! Dan! - it's just too fast for me. So rather than feel like the skunk at the garden party in the MC bass clubhouse so I stepped outside to try Psycho.  I was really having problems getting the long riff from the high D on the 12th fret descending 2 octaves to the open D.  I slowed down RR and sped up my cursing. I've got a decent first score of 96%.  I can definitely improve this. 

Did a couple of goes at Dan! This was the best:

Honestly thought it was a 100% run until I reached the break and noticed my multiplier was at x57. Not sure what exactly what I missed, but I don't think it was anything I had a good excuse to miss.

 

Also tried the Muse. While my score was lower, I don't think it was actually harder, just that I was less prepared for the challenges it presents.

Been there many times. I actually found that I have fewer dropped notes since I raised my strings and started wearing a glove on my fret hand. This has particularly made a massive difference when dealing with low tunings.

good result, this song is painful all the way :) but I think Im getting it.

@ blisters are predestinated for playing fingered bass I thought, but I'm used to play with fingers, also on guitar. That only toughen your fingers.

It had to be done, chords, okay, double stops(?) and all.  I have real difficulty playing these with just my fingers - no way do two plucking fingers want to play at the same time.  I either have to strum it with my thumb or drag a finger across both strings very quickly. lol

I'm not very happy with it though, because I managed quite a few random and not necessary misses throughout the whole song, as you can probably tell from the shit score :(.  I'm still hoping for a 99% towards the end of the week, but it's not going to be a 99.85%, that's for sure.

There's "can't play", and then there's "bassist can't play".  I suspect you've done a whole lot better than I could do.  80%+  is a good score on guitar as far as I'm concerned, on pretty much any song. :)

Well it seems i need to forgive my computer as i must have missed a couple of notes on the Metallica song as tonight I improved by 0.31% !!!!!!

unbelievable ...... if i don't get 100% by Friday the Thunderbird gets it !

 

 

 

 

 

So i move on to Psycho, which brought a slightly better improvement of 3% but needs a lot of work but i have a few days to get to grips with it but still can't get the last bloody note.....

I had only got a few 100%'s before i joined this Championship now I'm getting 2 a week.......amazing what a little bit of enthusiasm, application and pure determination can do.   :unsure:

I don't know why, but the Beginner Lead song this week, just doesn't work the way my brain does.  I just can't get my head around it.  I had a go at it on Sunday, and have been putting it off ever since.  I've played it through in riff repeater many times over the last couple of days, and have finally managed to get a score through,  I think I'll leave it there though

 

I always knew there was something wrong with my head.  This song proves it :-)

Hi, I had a small accident harvesting my crops, I cut my middle finger (fretboard) in the process so I won't be able to play my guitar, hope to come back next week.

I'm with Diddie on the Psycho song , my head just won't accept it but as I have 100% on the Beginner Bass I'm going to continue with Psycho if only to get the 0.2% to get above Trevellyan :-)
