Again, I concur, I am also more motivated by people who play harder and dominate the scoreboards but I like it to sound nice too... And have fun. The competition is run pretty fairly though and I think those of us who enjoy perfecting our skill and tone of what stage we're at before moving up a notch are free to do so. Plus the moderators are reasonably cool about letting us decide where we feel we should be :) /hi fives mods! :)

@@NoonyDeloony I will start from your last sentence. Cool name for the top category 'Ultimate Badass' in the future :) I have suggested the 'Virtuoso' category because in my opinion I think playing Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Metallica (I love 'em all) it is not the same as playing Joe Satriani, Vai, Albert Lee, Paco de Lucia, etc, etc. I prefer your chosen name 'Ultimate Badass' though.

 

I understand both sides, in one way if I like to achieve a good sound if I go to advance I might be disappointed but I understand also someone that is trying hard on the intermediate being disappointed, I get it. Although in my case I wouldn't, I would be motivated. And if we get demotivated by someone that is better than us, we will have a hard time, that is why I avoid searching on youtube by 'Kid playing Flamenco Guitar' or something :D

 

I will go with the rules if the moderators decide so, despite this is rock n'roll right, don't follow the rules, just kiddin' :) If I have to advance to the next level I will and I will do my best to achieve the best results both in score and tone.

@@NunoJBSilva.Guitarist  In true rock n'roll style, there are some options here not to follow the rules  :)

 

You can play and submit scores to whatever class you like, regardless of the class you are allocated to.  You will see others doing that all of the time.  There is also the freebird system if you don't want to feel tied to a class.

 

If you want to focus more on getting the best sound rather than the best scores, why does it matter what class your scores indicate you should be in and are allocated to?  Just play what you want and submit the score.  You score might not count in that class, but if the sound is what is important to you rather than the score, then it's no big deal.

@@diddie17 I never said that I didn't want a little competition, that is why it is a champioship and there is awards and everything-, right? That's good. Also I didn't win last time,  I was 3rd so I'm not taking any trophy from anyone and that thrived me a little bit for this week. What I do usually is go for the points initially and then go for the tone and soul.

 

In any case I'm new here and I'll follow the rules of the competition. I don't want anyone to be resentful so I'll without any trouble go into the category that the moderators (the purple names :)) decide. They are the rulers.

From next week I'll be back to the MC classes and kick my own lazy ass to focus more on the hard ones for a while.

I  don't know about animations, but I wouldn't be surprised to listen to this tune in a Woody Allen film

RS keeps crashing for some reason, pretty sure it's something my end causing the problem so no more updates, plus I cut my index finger on my plucking hand last night and it keeps opening up like a big ol' muppet mouth ... need some glue. Off to work!  ^_^

However poor me has had no time to improve cause had to move to a vacation location in the carinthian mountains for a week on the Snowboard, poor me :D

 

 

For the new levelup discussion i think there has been really good finetuning and the ruling is really top notch by now.

 

@JB - when you score a 99+ and are promoted to adv (where your skill obviously belongs) you could still try to master the int songs every week and monitor your progress with a few adv runs.
