Unfortunately this weeks it's going to be neither, spending all my time trying to nail the solo from Alestorm!

 

Speaking of, small improvement in the rhythm part:

And the lead - hit my own goal of 97%, so far I can only play the solo accurately at 90% speed so with a bit more practice I should be able to eek out a slightly better score. New goal is 99%.

................. as if this week was not crazy enuff regarding diff and scores ... ranking calculation does not in no way just not ... allow to score 2 classes seperately for one class in my leaderboard..... hence we got another something fresh and :cow2: cool - your both MC song acc% are summed up - so there is gonna be a 200% max achieveable in MC lead this week - and that summed lb ( i am gonna post ) accounts for 10-5-3-1 pts. i need holidays.

as since i started this there are a lot of new regular players in the CS here is a short heads-up what that is about:

Your 10 last weeks scores are scored 10 pts for each win, 5 for a second, 3 for a third and 1 for a 4th place, summed up and presented in the leaderboard below for each class / path. Adds to the competition, shows your progress and makes you come back ;).

There is an extra point for a 100%acc in your class, and an extra point for a MasterModeScore in your class (that is less than 2% less then your best acc).

 

Ah, yeah - you get shiny awards... for places 1-3 of your class and the one with the crown for leading your class in the 10-week lb.

Of course anyone at any time can be leveled up to join higher class.

Hi, I found out something that maybe you guys know, and maybe has been addressed before. But then, maybe not.

So, I wanted to practice this song using riff repeater with a 90% speed (never done that before). When I finished the song, the screen is exactly the same some of us use to post here:

Today I played it at normal 100% speed:

Differences in performance are there. I didn't try on other songs, but to me is like an advantage that is there to use, just my oppinion really. Maybe we should use score attack only? (not a fan but I'm gonna start posting that)

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on this.

@Tango  There are lots of ways to cheat if we want to. But i just hope no one does.  There is really no point in it.

I had noticed this too @@Tango and did mention it to Fripples last week which is why I almost always post a Score attack image, it'd be funny though if someone was using this method to cheating and we started demanding video performances :D... Ooo Ooo! I demand video performances as proof from no on... you shall be judged on ability, how much laundry is on the bed and if your wardrobe doors are open,  you'll be disqualified!

It's a score from earlier this week that I thought I had finally managed to beat yesterday when I got all excited about a big score and a 98.8, or so. :D

I think also, if you can figure out how to run CDLC on whatever system you're on, you can pretty well figure out how to cheat if you really want to.  But as has been said, what's the point?

 

If I had a mouse and the program installed, I'd post a really bad photoshop right now. :)

As far as cheating goes, I think the organizers and the mods here act as a deterrence already, but there really is no point other than you're pushing others to play better.

 

Also a 100% in SA trumps 100% in LAS anyway so cheaters be outta luck

About cheat. We can a bit update rules, for trophies (1-3 places in own class) will accepted only score of SA.

Yes it not great protection, but at least easy and safe way for cheat will removed.

And as punishment caughtе cheater, i can make some shameful tropрie, which will be awarded forever, and will never accepted any score in future.

Competition is perfect method of push forward you skills, but in a chase of big percents in table don't forget to listen how you sound, cuz there a lot of little cheats based on rocksmith note detection: not playing mutes or pinch harmonics, especially bad situation with triplet rhythm, sometimes you can play it like tremolo picking and rocksmith won't notice problems, also sometimes it allows to pick sustained notes much later than needed and etc. etc. So don't forget you are playing guitar, not a video game and treat rocksmith as an interactive tabs with a little help on notes detection. And don't forget to learn some songs by heart and play them without rocksmith at all + same with jamming along backing tracks in internet (makes you hear music and learn scale shapes along the neck).
