My 13 year old daughter, @@GNat, just got home from school and demanded that we put on some Bowie.  Well trained, I must say.

:sob: Sad to hear about Bowie's passing. While he's not as big an influence on me personally as some other musicians who have passed in the last several months, I love his music and it's just kind of hard for me to imagine a world without David Bowie.

 

Anyway, I made some updates to Fatal Illusion. In addition to the changes I mentioned making before, I also changed the last solo so it's based on the 12th fret until it starts moving up at the very end. It was probably find before, but I think it's a bit easier like this. I also changed the timing of the ascending lick of the last solo a bit, as it seemed like what was tabbed wasn't quite right (what I have now still probably isn't). It will also be harder to score attack with the added sections, but it will hopefully be enough easier to practice the tricky bits to make up for that (and there's always easy difficulty).

Yep, my hands are really not enjoying this week. Usually I lap up these widdly bits all over the neck but the choices, even the intermediate, I am having a hard time getting any kind of rhythm/melody ... the choices are good, I just wish I was gooder. Tired now, have played a bit of Bowie, Suffragette City, China Girl, Let's Dance and Five Years to name a few, China girl has a nice bass line, not a particularly favourite song of mine by Bowie but it's pretty.

 

It's a sad day, and to quote Simon Pegg - "If you're sad today, just remember the world is over 4 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie."

I haven't had much time to practice this week, and I don't think it's going to get any better.

 

I managed to get an hour or so in tonight and at least post a score.  I'm struggling with the ending in score attack, and if I don't get enough of it get 3 strikes.

Ugh! I don't like any of the songs this week, and I can't play the song in my class (Megadeth). Guess it's an off week this time... well, except for the Blues Comping, I guess.

 

I'll try Dropkick, though.

2groggy is off on a tangent.  2groggy does what 2groggy wants and there's nothing anyone can do about it. After all,  it doesn't really take a lot to distract him.

I have just played the Megadeth widdely bit at 51% speed, with no errors!  I'm half way there, guys!  :lol:

Made a bit of a mess of my hand today in an unfortunate kitchen incident involving an extremely hot wok :(

Can't really play guitar for now, but it's not so bad on bass.

A bit more time to practice tonight, but a whole lot of work for 2%.  I'm struggling with the last 3 sections, but I don't really see 8% in it.
