Our tribute to Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister of Motorhead:

Where would we be without Lemmy? Early on Motorhead was called the worst band ever, bacause of their fast but simple music. Style that inspired thrash metal bands that formed in early 80s. Known from being the loudest band on earth, Motohead became one of the greatest metal bands on earth. Lemmy was big part of this success. With his gavelly voice and bass that incorporated double stops and chords, he was one of a kind.

Rest In Peace mister Lemmy, we will never forget you.

With all my love and support I couldn't keep you in Advanced after you kept on scoring 100% on songs rated 7. Knowing you, you'll be back in Advanced before this months ends, though.

Beginner Lead - 99.51%, 236 streak

It's fast :) Misses in solo, because I hit wrong string for few notes :( Playing sitting gives me trouble when having too big break.

That's really fun song, classic tune, though I like The Go-Go's more. Probably those cute vocals...

 

Advanced Lead - 83%, 135 streak

It's fun, some parts are learnable, solo is not. My rate 9.

When I moved from Beginner to Intermediate, there was The Trooper waiting, so it's a tradition, that I'm getting way too difficult Iron Maiden song in new class :lol:

 

MasterClass Lead - 84%, 77 streak

Nostalgia. Back in the days it was my favorite Metallica song. Solo, harmony part before second solo, second solo. Wonderful.

For the record, I'm quite happy for @@NoonyDeloony to remain in Advanced, should she so wish.

Having been pretty down about my early dismal failures, I'm enjoying this one now.  It really is pushing me  :).  I'd rather get 80% on this than 98% on one that I only play twice because it's too easy.  I think I'm in a bit of a gap at the high end of beginner/low end of intermediate at the moment.

 

I think you described it best yesterday when you called it a fight.  I really am fighting with this song, but I'm enjoying the fight.

 

If the other beginners want something a bit easier next week then I can just spend my time working on the intermediate.

 

Anyway, after lots of 79% and 80% plays, I finally got a good run all the way and got -

 

Beginner lead - 85.5%  I'll keep going but I'm not sure I'll get much more.

Gave this a couple tries. Some fun grooves in these riffs. I feel like some drugs must have been involved in the lyric writing process for this song, or else he's just a really wacky dude. The bake sale of the year!

@@NoonyDeloony Nice video! Your rhythm and dynamics are getting so solid lately. I really need to get used to standing while playing, so much more lively when you're not trapped in a chair!

@@Gamut i too hate learn fast solo with shifting, bcs of i don`t know way how learn it. RR not big helper for me. We need some good tutorial how more easy and not very boring learn such things.

Started rr on Metallica, decided to use a plec which seems to be the way to go with this style of play, it's staying in my grip so long as I don't go beyond 65% speed, I played the intro several times at 75% then my mind fell asleep and wouldn't let me improve anymore. I gave it a blast in score attack nonetheless and barfed out at 3/4's of the way through with red X's of doom... This is the type of song that I'll be hoping to play by next January but I'll try through the rest of the week to at least post a score... By next January I will also quit embarrassing myself by using terms like "barfed out" to stay down with the kids :)

Thought I would try Rhythm for a change.

 

For someone who thinks he wants to play lead guitar I sure have a lot of fun playing rhythm. Even when it gets repetitive, you get into a trance-like groove, almost like when you are approaching drunkenness..... Love that feeling!

No possibility for me to play yesterday and today, but Monday I used to practice on rr confortably at 80% of the speed. I increase the speed slowly, and I will do my first try on Score Attack when I'll reach 90%. I have the feeling of a good progression and feel more confident about this song.
