Just wondering:

If you have a situation like in EPIC from Faith no more where you have to strum A and G string the same time: Do you use to fingers to pick or do you mute D string? When using fingers I need to release the guitar pick of course.

Pinch pick between thumb and index, you still have a pick and 3 fingers to pluck with without releasing the pick.

There are a few different situations: if it's an octave chord or something similar (which I think is the case in Epic), it's usually just done by muting the D string with your fretting hand index finger. For other situations (off the top of my head, Blackbird by Alter Bridge definitely needs this), you'll do "hybrid picking", where you use the plectrum as usual, but also pluck with your middle (and possibly ring and pinky) finger.
