@@Mortalo - While lack of handshapes is just cosmetic, it's pretty silly to have to take a screenshot of a chord in order to figure out how to finger it. It might not be an essential consideration for advanced or MC, but I'd argue it definitely should be one for beginner and probably intermediate. And it's another thing that can detract from a CDLC's quality that often gets overlooked.

Also, you completely sidestepped the issue of the tuning. I'm now almost absolutely sure the tuning for the rhythm track of Ohio is wrong. A#6/A is a weird chord and doesn't match any chord I've seen in the song charts.

You're absolutely correct @@albatross213, the rhythm track for ohio should be in double drop d. Seems like a oversight by the charter - should be relatively easy to correct ?

The opening few bars of the lead track looks like a tabbing issue rather than a syncing one, sure it sounds weird when played over the backing track, but when played alone it actually sounds fine to me.

also I tried the rhythm from Ohio, and you guys are right alba and fiddle, it needs definitely double drop d, in E standard it sounds awful

Some scores from the weekend:

Bates - cool cover of a great song. Lost some percentage points on lead and rhythm by missing a string of notes on the repetitive chord at the end, concentration went a bit I guess !

Counting Crows - man this song brings back some good memories ! I can already play my own version of the rhythm - pretty sure everyone who has ever picked up an acoustic can :)

One thing I've learned from rocksmith is that it can be a pain to try and relearn something to match the way the game wants it played, especially a strummy song like this, so I'll stick to lead and bass for now.

Just the bass done for now.

Here's a rehost of Ohio with the rhythm guitar tuning fixed. This was just done by importing the package and then changing the tuning, so it probably hasn't fixed the chord names, but it should at least fix the sounds. Won't be able to check it out myself for a few hours.

@ fake slap means you're cheating by playing normal picking or with pleck :o someone should call the freebird police  :cop:

but anyway good scores dude

@ Not , i  tried to play with slap where it marked in chart, but after 4 hours, some slap notes  a bit turned almost into usually notes, bcs of  tired fingers and pain corn. A few days and i will get this score with more right sounds.

ps. there is some note A# at 1 fret, seems must be at 6th E. And not sure that all slap setted right.

  • Rocksmith Championship Organizer

You are right about the notation. Most notes are not slap, just normal. Pops are in but all others should be slap.

While a lot more of it is slap than notated, I don't think it's all slap. A decent amount of it's an unusual hybrid of normal finger-style with pops. Check out this guy's bass cover, which looks and sounds pretty legit:

cool, you have to switch very fast between the hand positions and need a good compressor with a lot of attack of course

If I had a few weeks practice on this I reckon I'd find the riff pretty unchallenging and not nearly as fast and painful as I do at the moment... this time next year, if it's in the Da Capo challenge, I hope I can nail this mother faunicator :)

P.S. I'm not withholding a score, I did monetarily score better but the accuracy was 98. something, I feel the accuracy score is more important in this case ... just in case anyone was wondering why I'd not submitted the big score at the top right :)

Ok, because of poor results and overall lack of skill @NoonyDeloony gets downgraded to Advanced. She would be forever remembered as shameful person... and then she'll make another charming video and we'll forget about that.

Very sad news today: My PC, which has faithfully served me for seven years, just went kaput. :sob: :sob: :sob:  Spent all day trying obscure methods of repair, but there's no getting around it: it's beyond saving.

I don't have any disposable income at all, so it's going to be a verrrry long time before I'm going to be able to submit any new scores or record any new videos. :( Goodbye for now, CF! Hopefully I'll be able to make a return sooner than later.

Guitar stuff:

Adv lead:

http://i.imgur.com/QiVgMJw.jpgShould be able to improve a lot. At full speed my picking hand gets confused a lot and my fretting hand sometimes gets confused which string is which when switching to the F and C chords for some reason.

MC lead:

http://i.imgur.com/tV2cuqo.jpg

I don't get these solos at all. This was my best run by a few % so far, but I'm not entirely sure why. Might have capitalized on the few parts of the solo I can follow, or it might have been that I was damn near spotless in the verse and chorus (while my longest streak was only 96, I think I had at least a few over 50). Not sure how much I can improve from here.

Adv rhythm:

http://i.imgur.com/1kSzEFF.jpg

Oddly enough the times I've played it since I've done worse. I think because my fretting hand gets tired and then starts messing things up during the repeats of the chorus at the end. But this doesn't really seem that hard.

Probably will also give Mr. Jones a few more serious goes than my first playthrough, as that didn't go especially well.

Edit: Gave Mr. Jones some more serious goes. Didn't actually do any riff repeater to get here.

http://i.imgur.com/Q7uixRg.jpg

Also, kind of funny that both this and Ohio have both C and F chords. Don't remember having seen too many other songs with F chords, and for some reason I feel like it's been a while since I've had to do many C's.

Now for MC bass:

http://i.imgur.com/SnSRIul.jpgChallenging myself to do this on my six string bass, as I've never really been able to do slap on it before. Tighter string spacing and greater number of strings makes it a bit harder to pick out the right strings or to sound good. Anyway, put in some practice and got a decent amount better, but still not amazing.
