I'm gonna throw an SSD into this pig in the not to distant future. Is recovering your CDLC just a matter of copying the downloads directory to a backup drive, then back to the C:\ drive where it belongs after the rebuild is done?  Can't be that easy, can it?

Any tips?

Yes it will work;

You can even just reinstall RS & overwrite your fresh RS install with your old one..

Yes it will work, as long as you use the .dll in the new installation too.

So remember to back that up along with your dlc folder.

If you are using the Steam version of Rocksmith 2014 then the new install will also have your profile and all your scores saved in the cloud, and it will appear as if you never changed anything.

Settings, however, will need to be changed manually.  So expect to set up screen resolution etc, and maybe any audio/latency settings you have used.
