From time to time we gonna put songs in for extra challenge from about 6-12 months ago. Songs that have been great, songs with a lot of competitors, songs they're just worth to play again...

I love this idea and support it fully, but when I want to choose a cool song from the past I see that many of them are official now ant can't be picked  :crying_cat_face:

"DA CAPO CHALLENGE"

this time from week 53

The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) chosen by @@MonstaS4

the former competitors scores are there in the table - so if you wanna check your progress give it another try and kick your own score or just take the extra challenge to play an extra song competition-wise.

Rules? - no Rules! Rules are for church guitarists!

#Everybody is welcome to post his score!

#No awards, no points, no nothing, just fun!

If you have an extra song you wanna play again just add it to the Song Selection List under Da Capo, and in general be verbose about the idea!

-

Don´t forget to compete in our running Exercises! Every path has it's own challenge

1st Exercise: Blues Comping 1 in A major shuffle
2nd Exercise: Blues Comping 2 in A major - straight 8ths

I'm getting better at Mr Crowley with the pick, but not enough to improve my score.  Strangely, the faster stuff at the end is no real problem, but I'm dropping notes at 3 or 4 places in the early slower part of the song.

@@albatross213 : You were right that I had accidentally wandered too far up in the trials. What I found out was my problem was a previous city had a new sidequest opened up to get a Lord of the Land that I had missed. That gave me another orb. Once I finished that, ate some herbs, and grinded it out a little bit, I got myself up to snuff for the Wind trial! Doesn't feel like grinding when the combat is this good, though.

The water trial's design wasn't too bad, but it's pretty unforgiving. As long as you're careful, I think it's one of the more fun dungeons, though.

I scored 1 higher on Nomeansno today, but I'm gonna try to go for mid 90s tomorrow. I've still got a lot of work to do on this week...

@@Toddo, I am wondering how you could get 100% accuracy on Offspring bass with only 210 streak  This song has 488 notes in this arrangement. I remember once I had a similar situation, was a RS issue, but nevermind, a lucky run  :)

So for uh fun? I played the DeCapo Offspring song. Let's just say it was bad. How in the heck am I supposed to move my pudgy fingers that fast on those chords between the ninth and tenth fret? I scored a whopping 31% :(

Starting to sound OK. That's it for me though this week, not enough time to catch Rman.

Yup. I think by teaching myself for the first four years it stunted my growth as a guitarist in the sense I didn't push myself or learn much new. Since getting Rocksmith and taking lessons when I can it's helped push me to try harder, new, and stuff outside of my comfort zone. I feel like I've learned a lot more in some ways in the last six months than I have in the first four years. :)

Hello,

I post a score for La Sera in lead. Hope I'm still in time.

I was supposed to work on that yesterday but with what happened in paris, that wasn't possible.

A friend was supposed to go to the gig, he cancelled at the last minute.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=553884998

Awful news about the Paris attacks, I am relieved your friend cancelled. I got word from my friend and he's o.k. Just horrible though. I have no other words, just positive vibes.

Welcome back @@Tango :) I was on Anvil only for cdlc, thankfully I'd improved and could participate here, and then, well, take over

Intermediate Lead - 83%, 36 streak

I'll try tomorrow too, but I don't know.

Pretty Fly Lead - 97.31%, 124 streak

Before I couldn't pass it in Score Attack, though I still getting lost, playing wrong chords. but I'm getting better. I played it many after Championship, but playing it in competition made me focus much more, and improve a lot.

Thank you!

Love That's Gone lead:

It's Catching Up lead:

http://i.imgur.com/mqJaowW.jpgPut in some practice time on the weird riffs. Still don't come close to 100%ing them, but I'm at least able to get my hands in the right position most of the time and my multiplier was never down-leveled during this run. If my picking hand weren't spazzing out this morning I could probably take this up another percent.

@@Viltaire - Happy birthday!

Regarding the shifting riff in Pretty Fly, you pretty much just have to practice it a lot. Slow it down with riff repeater (or with a metronome outside of the game) and focus on getting it done cleanly at a slow speed. When you can play it cleanly at a speed consistently, speed things up a little, and just keep going until you can do it at the speed of the song. It's hard to give a timeline for how long it should take to build up to song speed - if you're not particularly used to shifting (especially of chords), it could take months of consistent practice to get all the way there, whereas an experienced guitarist who's very used to shifting but not that particular shift pattern in that part of the fretboard might get it in a few minutes.

@ - A sightread?! Looks like @@Nacholede might be getting some competition. Also, @@Mortalo, it looks like you may have given me his score on the leaderboard or something? I definitely have not hit 88% on Mr. Crowley (I think I have only played the "Rhythm" arrangement, and didn't post that score).
