From time to time we gonna put songs in for extra challenge from about 6-12 months ago. Songs that have been great, songs with a lot of competitors, songs they're just worth to play again...

I love this idea and support it fully, but when I want to choose a cool song from the past I see that many of them are official now ant can't be picked  :crying_cat_face:

Man ... what a weekend...

 

Trip 2 Vienna, starting off with a 10inaRow which means 10 movies in a Row and right after that with zero sleep on to the Slayer show... Man man man...

Kvelertak..... solid as ever

Anthrax.... wow - defo a liveband really cool, i have not listened to a single album of them my whole life for sone strange reason, that is gonna change i suppose. Give “evil twin“ - their new single a shot! It was a great show so far and i would have been satisfied but then...

SLAYER ... oh my god... last time i saw them was Sziget Festival in Budapest 12 years ago... now, better than ever those guys surely know how to deliver...

From the first note of the first song till the last riff of angel of death a pure guitar flood straight to the brain.

King and Holt... masterful. Holt doing half the show with the Hanneman signature.

If you get a chance to see Slayer live - go for it - has nothing in common with listening to the album. pics may follow.

 

Now, really hungover and tired to death after 5 hours sleep in 48h in the train back home. If i dont get an hour of sleep right now the kids are gonna finish me off :)

Much like Juular, this was my first play on this song in a very long while.

My score for Pretty fly in week 53 is wrong.  I only had 92,68%.  (i still have my old screenshots).  So I'm in the right place on the list but with the wrong score.

Mega Bass Update !

Really wish I'd picked up a bass years ago, really fun instrument :)

 

Up to now I've been using a pick exclusively, so this week I thought I'd give the more traditional finger picking a go.

Beginner and Intermediate songs are done with fingers, the rest with pick.

The verses are played in an 8 bar shape I,I,I,I,IV,IV,IV,IV

then the chorus and solo are the well known 12 bar shape

A little bit of progress. I've spent a lot of time in Riff Repeater working on that double stop lick. I was hoping to progress just a bit more. Good thing there is still the rest of the week ;)

Adv: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=551072213 I really don't think that last sequence of chugs is that fast, it seems really out of keeping of the style of the song and when I listen to the record itself the bass sounds like a nicely paced chuggy train, not the billion plucks a second that's charted, so I allowed the reverb take most of the slack at the end rather than trying to finger pick every single one and embellished it with some bewm budum bewm budums instead...  ( I'm still shit with a plectrum, no idea how you guys do it, though I can strum chords on the bass with a plec, individual notes I just canne seem to keep rhythm)

 

Easier than Nina... so I'm off to play that now :)
