@@albatross213 i can not beat your score, sorry. yesterday got a big corn (with liquid) on 4 finger, after practice with this a song (Ghost), i afraid dapage it :)

Yes.No. ;) surely that part. A 8-12 stretch is not a problem. When i do - i even most of the time play that (sloppywise) without pinkie.... which i should not. No, distance is no issue, but stamina is - that passage is just damn damn damn long.

Maybe i should start tapping and switch to picking at the muted section, or tell those muscles that they have to obey ...

I'm going to do an update on the "The Duellists" in several hours. Among other changes, I'll change things so it sorts under "D", and I plan on recording run-throughs to aid me in noticing whether anything is wrong. If you could let me know if there's anything that seems off before that, let me know!

 

Some things I'll look at in particular are:

-verse, pre-chorus, chorus: is everything here good? I think I noticed some weird single notes or an unmuted note amongst muted ones on rhythm, but is there anything else off?

-harmony sections: Is the timing on the slides mostly correct? Are hopos and stuff appropriate?

-solos: these will be beyond my ability to check well. @@Nacholede, @@then3verend, or others, did you notice anything that was off? Any slides or bends that should be adjusted?

 

 

@@Bentron - It's almost certainly played fingerstyle as it's Steve Harris, but that's a hard enough riff that I don't think Maiden's played it live very often. I'm getting there on that riff, but I've also spent lots of time playing things with weird plucking patterns the past month. And there's also no guarantee that what's tabbed is exactly what's played, but I think it's pretty close.

I hate replacing strings. Next month there will 2 years since I got my guitar. I replaced them only twice (and machine heads once, after I killed them with too thick strings). Besides I found out that when my 9-46 (by Ernie Ball) are fresh they don't like to tune down. When they're older they like down-tuning much more. Besides it's only those crappy chords. It's not worth of my effort :P

 

@@Bentron Steve Harris has faster fingers then I can pick. So using pick on Maiden's songs should be recommended :lol:

Frustrated with that high run of notes between the 15th and 19th fret, seem to get random misses mostly on the G :(

Version 2.1 of The Duellists is released. Fixed up a few things in the first solo where bends weren't timed quite right and some notes were in the wrong place. Other changes were pretty minor. Enjoy!

Solo's fine, I keep wanting to bend one note on the G but it doesnt happen...im just too bend happy...

I tend to snap the b string. Also enter random G string joke.

I just had a zero miss run-through of Jump in the Fire...

And I'm pretty happy with it.

 

Solos are hard.

 

Edit: 2 misses at 78% speed. Not too bad, given the bends and all.

 

Edit 2: Those bends in the second section. I'm not even sure if it's possible to get some of them to register, because I've never been able to get them (I know it's easy to put in bends that are too strong by accident, too). Best I've done on the second is 8 misses at 40% speed  :cry:. Which is pretty . Third section is more to my liking, though, even if I'm not good at tremolo picking.

http://i.imgur.com/bflW6L5.jpgIt was too hot for me. While the solo is more or less playable for me at 80% speed now, at 100% speed it's mostly just a flurry of notes that my picking hand is too confused to hit with bends that (still) don't get recognized and just make me lose my hand position.

I knew I could get 90+. I think this song is much easier, at least for me, than the french one from week 104. There is a major difference in speed from 95% to 100% in riff repeater it seems like.

 

I made a ummm small run at Secular Haze just on the lowest difficulty. Glad I'm not playing that yet :P Although I do love Ghost.
