There's a sneaky ninth fret note in there that I hadn't noticed yesterday.  There's hope for me yet! :)

It sorry, no update, today i has very bad note recognition in RS, for 4 string, every second is miss,  intro SOAD -clean guitar, almost every time give me strike. tried diff tuning, calibration, nothing work. So i got >1kk score and one strike, and of course summary bad accuracy :)

I'm thinking this might be the best I can achieve on this song, I can get higher scores but not better accuracy, I really do feel like I'm speeding up and slowing down to maintain the runs and it feels just a bit off sync doing that for me.

 

The little bit of tapping makes this the type of song that's difficult to learn if you're limited for time, I still haven't nailed it but it sounds o.k. (ish) but I'd say this is a hard intermediate more than anything as the rest of the song is bog standard rhythm. It's nice to play though, I do feel quite rocky when playing it... lighters in the air, grabbing fistfuls of air from the sky and bringing it into the chest kinda feel, might even go as far as "sticking the foot on the monitor and shaking my head at it" type rock :)

And i am a huge fan of BTTF, yesterday was a special day, and here in Buenos Aires we celebrated it with a party including...MARVIN BERRY! It was awesome, they recreated scenes from the movie, and some guys played songs from the movies and of course they played Johnny B. Goode! Incredible night!

Back after a week of vacation in the nice and friendly country of Portugal (I missed my Guitar and Bass the whole week).

 

I am throwing myself into the dark dungeons of MC Bass. It will probably end with dishonour and ridicule -  but, what the heck. Here it is

 

 

Bass MC - 97.98%

 

 

When it comes to Guitar - I give up. It is impossible to get better recognition on this one. I am happy to do enough to stay in my level.

 

Lead IM - 83.24%

 

 

Rythm IM - 87.77%

Hey The Neverend  Why didn't you tell me that Dean basses were so good.  Just picked up one for 129 (on sell )  but it plays like it should be priced at 500-700  best bass purchase for me ever. ( I have owned a 6 string Michael Tobias in the past  but used it was 1,000 ) Maybe I'll have to put down some scores again.

Note recognition seems to be my biggest foe with this one. There seems to be a definite sweet spot when tuning.

@@missis sumner - If you're talking about as a custom, I actually think @@Aludog is working on tubular bells. Obviously a big project, though, so no ETA.

 

Anyway, some (final?) updates for this week. Haven't had much time during the week to practice, but made some progress on each song.

Int lead, rhythm.

Finally had a bit of a breakthrough on these. Took a while to get it to where I could strum the chords at speed with reasonable accuracy in the signature riff. I can't sustain it for the full riff, but at least for the verse I tend to play with only downstrokes since everything seems to coordinate better when I do that. I still mess up in lots of other places with things that I should be able to hit, but I'm pretty happy with my progress this week.

 

Might try to do an MC bass update, perhaps with a playthrough video, tomorrow morning. Been playing enough 5-string stuff recently that I don't get horribly confused which string is which every time there's lots of string switching, so I should be able to improve a bit.

Ended up pretty busy all week. Here's a score to show I'm not dead!

I know I said I'd make a video of this, but I'm actually not proud of my tone in this song and I ended up too busy to fine-tune it. I can't get the C string chords sounding right at all.

Turns out my bass can't handle anything lower than D flat, and even at that you have to find the exact tuning sweet spot.
