Do you play the $10 Walmart special or an original played by Paul Mccartney?? We want to see em and hear the stories behind them!

This was my first guitar that I bought at a second hand store. It's very light and I like the way it feels. I use it mainly for Drop D and lower tunings. It's an Epihphone Special SG.

I am 35 years old. As such when I was in high school every guitar player and lead singer that you dreamed of being played one of these. I had to have one! I understand that over the years they are pretty much all the same but that wasn't going to do it for me. I had to have an era correct one. I hunted and hunted and finally came across this heavily used, but plays perfect '99 MIM Fender Stratocaster.

Found it on Craigslist and had the guy email me the serial number. As soon as I had it confirmed by Fender for year and such, I headed out to get it. 2 hours. I am thrilled to own it though! Totally worth the drive.

My main two instruments here. My Fender Squier Stratocaster which cost about $200 with a beginner kit including a small amp, carrying case, strap, etc. And my Washburn Taurus Series T12 which was worth about $400 and has never let me down.

Here's my acoustic I got over the summer. ~$300 Simon and Patrick Songsmith. Sounds and plays beautifully, just doesn't have a pickup installed.

And my last guitar (Oscar Schmidt by Washburn) was a free gift from a friend who didn't use it anymore. Rough around the edges, needs some adjustments and to have the volume knob adjusted with some fresh strings, but for free it plays great and is nice to keep in D Standard.

i have a Ibanez Rg421 a strat and a Epiphone Thunderhorse explorer i like the explorer but i want to change the pickups because the sound im getting from the Burst buckers are horrible    http://philgc.com/guitar_pics/guitar_pics_7.jpg

My setup now:

The guitar is an Epiphone Korina Explorer, but it doesn't see a whole lot of action.

The basses are an Ibanez GSR200 (my steady workhorse) and Epiphone Thunderbird Pro V (love it but needs an electronics overhaul).

(End of Production 200€ New)

Will be equiped with heavy gauge strings for low tunings (No Tremolo Easy To Tune).

I built this from kit parts.  The kit had everything except the body and pick guard.  I had a nice piece of wood around but it took some creative cutting.  The only shape that would fit was a cross between a Tele and a Jag.

I had to improvise a pick guard, so I sacrificed and old 45.

I've only been playing the bass for the last several months.  I don't like the body that I made.  I'll make another body before I post a picture of it.

Here is my current collection! I got the Yamaha from a teenager off of craigslist who NEVER played it, and was in perfect condition..Payed a whole $25 and some xbox 360 games for it. Minus the smudge marks its bass-icly (xD) brand new and a perfect sounding slap bass...*shutters*

My main girl is Shirley aka my Ibanez,  i play her in every situation. Heavy gauged strings for those Dream Theater solos and all around awesome sounding when im playing standard songs as well. Not a very great slap bass (due to the strings) but she gets the job done. I obtained her from my best friend who never played her and she sat in the corner collecting dust. Nobody puts Shirley in the corner. So for my 21st birthday he gave it to me.

Last but not least, is my ibanez guitar. A co-worker of mine has at least 20 different guitars, so one day i told him i wanted to learn how to play and he let me choose from a small bundle and said $50 bucks for any of these...I was like a kid in the candy store i didn't know which one to choose, i've never played guitar before so i attempted to try all of them out and this one just caught my eye the most.
