Update: Got a new LP Studio; the 2012 headstock and neck cracked so I had it replaced instead of getting the neck and headstock done.

I actually like the maple neck better with the 60's slim profile, and maple is certainly a harder wood than mahogany.

Ibanez RG2EX2 (E Stnd, Drop D with some Eb's; all RS14 currently no Amp yet) Has been a great first guitar got used from a buddy, in great shape. He put the V7/V8 pickups in it from stock, so far I am happy being inexperienced.

Kasnitch, those are beautiful ESP's. I used to own an early 90's ESP M-2 Custom in Lemon yellow, best guitar I have put my hands on to date; I expect the newer ESP's are only an improvement. bought it used for 300 in '05, traded it for an 87' Ricky 4001. Still a massive regret letting it get away, Rick's come up for sale often but that guitar was something special!

that said, Here's what i'm currently playing (Bass porn heavy!):

What I do most of my recording on,

MIJ Fender Aerodyne Precision Classic, P/J tone, Super thin/light P body, Jazz neck profile, one of my favorite workhorses!

my Eb bass, Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass:

And the two that don't see the outside world very often, I think both were around 400 models made:

The Boat Anchor! Gibson Silverburst Explorer Bass:

I picked this up because it is identical to Skwisgaar skwigelf's 6-string "Thunderhose" explorer, in bass form. :)

Hipshotted Gibson SG Supreme Fireburst Bass (07' Guitar of the Week promo):

The newest addition, went looking for something that would make it easier to move around, came up with this one.

I love them all but I've really taken to the short scale SG lately, The finish really comes to life in low light situations and it feels like I work less to do more. :)

I'll have the Squier VM Jazz Bass, thanks (although the P-Bass does look fantastic)

Nah, it's a 2006 Standard, which I suppose is just a Traditional nowadays. I almost bought a R8/'58 actually. But it was going to be $2000 more than this one. A bit much for my first guitar, but I knew I wanted a Gibson from the beginning. I think I would've ended up with a Tele if LPs didn't exist.

here are my main basses;

from left to right, Steinberger Synapse, Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV, Line 6 Variax 700, 2003 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray, Fender Classic Series 70's bass. I have a few more since this pic was taken..

Here's the rest (from left to right):

Schecter Custom 4, Ibanez Soundgear SR300, Warwick Corvette $$, G&L Tribute JB-2, Yamaha BB424X, 1984 Rickenbacker 4003.

I generally play Ibanez , and my main is a Satch model axe but since it dont handle low tunings well my wife got me this as a early Birthday present.

This beast handles eveything i can throw at it tuning wise and just pure awesome to play.

2003 American fender standard, found it on gumtree and turned out he was 10 minutes away so I couldn't resist for £500.

Pretty Strat!  I found one just like that for US $600; I'm so tempted to buy it, but I can hear the conversation at home...

"Look honey, I got another Strat!"

"Look honey, you got divorce papers, too!"

The Zakk Wylde Epi is a nice guitar...I played a couple of them in Sam Ash...it was down to that or the Studio.
