I was fine with windows 7 but now that I have upgraded to 10 I can't figure out the new way to install the cdlc into rs2014

Should be the same way as how you first started puting CDLC into your game, make sure you put the D3DX_42.dll into the Rocksmith folder so that you can run CDLC. Also this topic has been moved to Help and Support!

windows 10 seems to have lost the "save as" function. when I download now they go straight into the download folder and I have to manually move them into my DLC folder. More fafe than the old way but do able
