I am just curious if anyone else is having the same issues as I am. Wondering if anyone knows of a fix or not.
When I find a song I want to hear and potentially learn to play, I click on the preview play button. It use to play the song and not create the popup. Now when I click on the play button, a popup occurs with all the cdlc song info and the preview music doesn't play.

Is this only an issue for me or multiple people?

@@RatMan i've got almost the same issue. Sometimes the Music starts and sometimes it doesn't at all. It's a small issue, because i end up downloading and playing to see if it's good or not anyways. So for me it's not as important, but sometimes it's really annoying. Simply because you're excited and curious if you found something new and obviously you want to hear it first but then you wait ... and wait.... and wait.

Instead of that Button, i use youtube. So i won't get trolled by that button anymore. [emoji85]

I really can't answer your questions (whether or not there is a fix or if other people have the same issue) but I can say that my experience is at least similar to yours.

 

I also get the little pop-up when I click the play button, and for me at least, the song will start playing. What I've been doing when I want to listen to a song is click the play button and then click the "Go to record page" button.

That will open a page like this;

it opens it in a new tab.

After that opens, I close the pop-up window and then press the pause button which will stop the song from playing there, and it will also make that pop-up reappear. I just close it again.

 

Then I go to the record page and listen to the song from there, download it if I decide I want it...etc.

 

The process is a bit annoying and I'm not sure it's supposed to work that way because I can't image why it would have been designed that way, but I don't know if there are plans to fix it.

Same here, playback does not work

Were previews removed? I don't see them on any songs anymore, PC or mobile. 

Same here, preview does nothing anymore on any song. Disabled my adblock, even firewall. Went into account settings and enabled previews, no dice.

 

Maybe there's some copyright fear? 

 

In the meanwhile, tediously c/p titles to youtube myself, but it's not as seamless.

I'm not sure what might be happening here, but it works for me on most songs that I tried.

With Or Without You (Dan´s version)

Did not work. I had to go to the "record page" and play it from there.

On that page I see there is two videos, so maybe that's why the preview button isn't working...it doesn't know which one to play?

Just a theory at this point.

 

For those of you that experience, can you list the songs that it doesn't work for? And try others to see if it works?

Ummm,, some work. But some don't,, some play the wrong song ? No idea why this is happening. Edit,,, The ones that play the wrong song have a link to the wrong song on YouTube, the preview you are hearing is the audio from the YouTube link,, SO,, long story short if it doesn't work, it's a bad link,,, . User error on the posters part OR the link was removed ( video pulled ) for whatever reason .

Mine went from working 75% of the time to not working at all over the last month.  However, the question I really want answered is why do I insist on clicking on the preview play button even though I know it isn't working?!?!?!?

In Germany many videos are blocked due to GEMA restrictions. This would explain why it is not working for everyone coming from that region.

Used to work on my laptop until I had to replace the HD.  Now nothing.  Works as expected on my desktop, so I'm assuming there's some utility or plug-in/extension that I'm missing.  Can anyone share what's required to be installed for previews to work?

I've never even seen a play/preview button on ignition (firefox). Where is it supposed to be?

Cogwheel => "preview button" at the extreme right. I suppose the settings is disable for you.

Yeah, the YouTube videos play fine & that's what I've been using.  Very strange.  Thanks for the reply.
