-= Building a Guitar from Scratch with Absolutely No Woodworking Experience =-

100 weeks ago, on Smithy's Anvil, Organizers of Rocksmith 2012 Championship decided to move on to Rocksmith 2014. Few months later, when Anvil died, they moved to CustomForge. Unfortunately, @@Kaijin was forced to make a break, and he left the Championship in hands of @@Joey. But with each coming week @@Joey had less time, so he asked participants for a help. @ answered the call to help him with Organizing the Championship, and to be honest, if he didn't, I would. So I was really happy that he took the job and gave me few more weeks of normal participating. Cause finally @@Joey had to step down, and I knew that it is my time. Last but not least was @@Rodman, with his idea of Rankings (honestly, I didn't liked that idea :lol: , but it turned out quite funny ) and he joined us in the battle of better tomorrow (or something like that). Well, nostalgia no more..

IT'S ALIVE!  The kit-bashed rubber band bass makes noise.  It even stays in tune for most of a song :lol: (pix to follow)

 

 

That didn't take long!  I take it you put a new nut on?  What did you do about the bridge and headstock?

 

I converted it to pure acoustic a couple of weeks ago.  I cut a new nut and drilled the string holes in the bridge.  I tried to use the original tuning pegs, but they couldn't handle it.  I had some bass tuning machines around.  They needed some spacers added and some holes enlarged, but they were a relatively easy fit.  Yesterday I just had to add the end-pin pre-amp and jack, the battery and the piezo pick up.

 

I haven't forgotten my promise of pictures.  I just haven't gotten around to taking them yet.

Comfortably Numb on a home made bass ukelele (take THAT FreeBird Police :P ).  There was a marked down-tick in my score, mostly because I'd miss by a fret or two, and the octaves are far narrower than I'm used to.

 

Mission accomplished.  Now it's time to pass the torch to the next generation of FreeBird Police Taunters.

:cop:  :cop: wanted - a guy named @2groggy who repeatedly broke the laws.

he will be arrested  imediately. His punishment will be the Freebird Jail with playing this weeks beginner song until his discharge!!! :cop:  :cop:

 

Going to FreeBird Jail to play Jailhouse Rock,,, The punishment does fit the crime.  But what if I played it on the bass uke?  This could turn into a viscous downward cycle.

Yo, only had 5 runs rhy and lead so far, i just cannot not play that one, maybe - against my competitive soul - due to lack of time i might ignore everything else and S&D some personal targets here...

If you want a personal rhythm or lead battle on Seek and Destroy as motivation I'd be happy to oblige. Seems I'm reasonably close to you, (at least on this type of song)!

If my heart hadn't been hammering crazily when I got through the first crazy section with my streak intact I might have held things together better and gotten close to @@Blazikiller. Still feel like getting near @@Choaralaone probably won't happen.

I know this isn't the place to post this BUT i just found out my Member Title is "Expert Guitarist" right now...

I don't know if i should cry or laugh....[emoji46]

I would cry because i'm seriously happy and this made my day...

And i would evenly laugh because i'm not even near as an Expert.

You Guys should see me playing and practicing...

You would laugh your ass off, you have no idea what klutz i'm when i start playing.

I didnt say we aint havin solid heavy metal, just there cant be never enough ;)

and Helloween is relatively unknown those days (they turned in strange direction...) - and you will see - the very old songs alba is charting are top notch melodic heavy metal...

 

... yea i will win a MC song in week 1150 or so ;)
