-= Building a Guitar from Scratch with Absolutely No Woodworking Experience =-

100 weeks ago, on Smithy's Anvil, Organizers of Rocksmith 2012 Championship decided to move on to Rocksmith 2014. Few months later, when Anvil died, they moved to CustomForge. Unfortunately, @@Kaijin was forced to make a break, and he left the Championship in hands of @@Joey. But with each coming week @@Joey had less time, so he asked participants for a help. @ answered the call to help him with Organizing the Championship, and to be honest, if he didn't, I would. So I was really happy that he took the job and gave me few more weeks of normal participating. Cause finally @@Joey had to step down, and I knew that it is my time. Last but not least was @@Rodman, with his idea of Rankings (honestly, I didn't liked that idea :lol: , but it turned out quite funny ) and he joined us in the battle of better tomorrow (or something like that). Well, nostalgia no more..

the only difficulty here is to get that C-shape chords quickly at the transitions. One time one string of them is bended

There's always one miss on Jailhouse Rock on bass - different each time, leaving me with 99.67%.  I'll try it again later this week.

 

I had a tiny uptick in Comfortably Numb, but nothing worthy of another screen shot.

Still have a bit of trouble on the intro riff (string skipping stuff), the pre-solo/solo riff (everything), and the outro riff (esp. with doing correct palm muting), but the others I've pretty much got down.

 

Anyway, since I am technically in the intermediate class, I should probably give Comfortably Numb a go on rhythm.

 

Also a small improvement on The Lemon Song, but I'll be doing many more attempts at that so I'll save that screenshot and post it only if I can't improve further. Which would be disappointing, because I made some really dumb blunders after the first intense bit.

When RR'ing bass line on Seek & Destroy I'm feeling the chart scrolling to be a little bit off. Anyone else getting a feeling of a sync issue when playing the chart by sight reading? to me it sounds way off from the tune I hear, but, when I play by ear it sounds great but getting an awful lot of late/miss messages.

I fear that I won't get better score without some serious RR'ing. Earlier I had a run with streak of 102, I probably hit all notes in 1st solo, but I don't know how I did it :ph34r:

Seek&Destroy it is... this one is quite a holy cow for me... one of my fav songs of all time, definition of trash metal, a song ´tallica won´t leave the stage before that one has been done...

never tried to play that since 10-15 years ago when i stopped playing out of frustration - that was one of the songs that made me stop cause no chance at all to manage even a part... When joining the CS i put it on my "to be mastered list"...

The downlevel was ok - signature riff hit me fast and hard and there was quite some blasphemy involved - how can i go for that song with a opeth guitar when there is ESP LTD in the house???

I now have all of the parts in hand for my next crime against good taste and the FreeBird police.  Assembly may take a few days, so for now I will only taunt them in my best Monty Python Spaniard voice with a partial list of the parts:

• a rarely used 3/4 scale el cheapo classical guitar
• a new set of U-Bass strings
• a new set of bass tuning machines
• a piezo pick-up and pre-amp

Mwahahahaaa!  By the end of this week, they will be at my mercy.

Tried to upload a video of this playthrough, but apparently they're blocking uploads of the song (or at least new ones, given that there's already a bajillion bass covers online, including @@bernixix's). Anyway, it actually didn't feel very good, as there were parts in the first half where I came very close to bailing. I guess the second half went OK, though.
