I was about to try to start the Wwise stage of a project and discovered that there was no .wave file in my directory.  I thought that EoF created these automatically.  Has something changed in a recent version of EoF?  (Or is it supposed to be created a different way and I've forgotten.)

 

[i appear to be using version 1.8RC10 of EoF and I'm running it on a Mac... though I will, of course, be using the Rocksmith Custom Toolkit in Windows.]

Sorry - I should have searched in the manual pages first.  It turns out that I didn't have the "save separate Rocksmith 2 files" option selected and that was what was causing the problem.

FYI, if you are creating the wwise file yourself, the newest test build of the toolkit will do it for you.

I am having the same problem - no wav files are being created.

i have "save separate Rocksmith 2 files" checked

and I have "Dont Write Rocksmith WAV files" unchecked

 

what else could prevent these file from being created?

Either not having chart audio loaded, or some other kind of error. After a save, check EOF's log to see if it says anything around the log entry that says "Saving Rocksmith WAV file".

I found that the title in the metadata of my source mp3 had a " : " in it.

 

There was no ERROR in the EOF log

although the log did show the file name that is was attempting to use for the WAV - which included a :

 

I updated the metadata in the mp3 and started over

This time the WAV was created.

Looks like a bug in Windows. It allows a program to create a file containing illegal characters in the name and does not cause an error to be displayed. It doesn't allow the file to be written to though. You may have ended up with a file 0 bytes in size, missing the file extension.

 

Edit: I added logic so that if such illegal characters are part of the song title, they are replaced with underscores when the WAV file name is chosen.
