Yeah :angry: ...  I been playing bass for about 2h... and is just enough that I get over exited with a song that BUM!! there you are, god damn blister attacking again. Now I either play with a pick, that to be honest is not my prefer way of playing... OR I wait at least a day to let it rest...

 

Anyway, I was wondering what you people do with blisters? let me know in the comments...

Actually i´m going to try something new... tonight I´ll sleep with my finger stuck in an aloe leaf, and see if that help.

You don't, you rest... If you're hurt, stop. It might be frustrating at first but it's part of the process.

 

The body will create calouses but it takes time before it appears and are sufficient to last for long session. You can always switch to a pick if you really want to continue playing but i would simply suggest to let your finger rest so that they can heal.

Start with shorter intervals. Play everyday for 30 mins each day and you'll work up some good callouses.  I know I've thrown a couple layers of athletic tape on the tips of my fingers from time to time when I've had issues and it's just enough of an extra layer to keep me from getting blisters. 

Maybe I'm not patient enough... but I been playing Bass for over a year now, not to mention casual play of my guitars or the ukulele. In rocksmith alone i have 381h of game play... so, don't blame me if at this point i'm loosing faith my skin is going to get any harder.

How is it playing with tape in your fingers? Do guitar players get the same problem getting blisters on the righty? most of the time i play guitar i use a pick anyways...

Yeah, persistence makes skin harder for most people, but some just have softer skin that can't be helped, I guess. I know because I have to stop wallclimbing when others are like only halfway through their practice.  :E

 

But no worries, because there are plenty of options for bass players. Try medical tape or climbing tape for example. As far as I know they should protect the skin well without being too much of an impediment for playing.

Not again ,the one year excuse. Like I said before,one year at playing an instrument it's actually nothing. Go to surf meanwhile maybe you can release the anxiety a little. :D
