to practise a solo or not...

One miss outside the solo :angry: Also 2nd part of solo, a little bit worse. Now it's time to learn that solo :D

@ Great! ^_^ About tones, @Nacholede pointed out being too quiet so I turned them up a little bit with the last version update. I also believe that a little bit quieter tones should find a better volume balance, but it's hard to tell myself since I have a shitty guitar and we probably differ in mixer volumes or cable tone gain settings. 

 

Anyway I'm going on vacation tomorrow  B)  B) So if i can't pull a "definitive" K-toloo version tonight it will have to wait until i'm back home..

 

In any case, please, , could you send me these fixes when you can so I'll now what to fix? :)

yes, at the moment I point them out and take screenshots.

About the tones I don't think they're too loud, maybe too much gain or something like that....sounds a bit mushy to me.

I'm sure the rhythm path also needs some fixes then, but first I do the lead

Nevermind, so here's one question.

Do you guys have the same issue after playing for 1-2 hours, that your left hand (frethand) hurts before the right one does ? It's kinda weird because at the beginning it was always the righz hand tho.

The next milestone for me was that both you hands don't hurt, you can see how skin is going from you left hand finger tips with no pain. But after a long play you will simply get tired. I can feel pain only in wrist of left hand when need to play some hard chords or stretch a lot. You can try Judas Priest -- Redeemer of Souls, that song always makes my left wrist to feel pain.

@DevStereo  I would say that depends on what i play.  big chords, long stretches and ho/po hurts the frethand. But fast strumming around a few notes or tremolo picking hurts the pick hand.

@@DevStereo when I first played yes, but after about 3 months it started to go away, the only times I got it again was playing that 40 minute Dream Thater song and playing 3 hours a day everyday for like two weeks. Took a couple days off and was back at it.

@@DevStereo I own a copy of John Petruccis 'Rock Discipline', which has a section on warm up exercises for pick and fret hand. I find it really good at reducing aches and niggles and always run through the exercises before a long session.

Blind Guardian - beginner

Rocky Dawuni - inter

Led Zep - advanced (even though there's a lot of empty space there).

 

What do all the bassists reckon?  (Yes, I am playing Blind Guardian with a pick - you'd be mad not to).

The bassist in Blind Guardian also plays with a pick (look at their live DVD for example), so you're in good company. I can manage this song without one, but some of their other songs (I think Another Holy War, maybe?) are too much for me.

 

As for the difficulty, I played through Whole Lotta Love before the week began, and it struck me as pretty easy - pretty much only one riff of any significance, and I don't think it was that hard. For past songs I might compare it to Eternally Missed by Muse in terms of difficulty, and everyone else thought that was a piece of cake.

 

For Blind Guardian, a lot of it is quite easy and has a lot of notes, so it's pretty easy to get a 99%+ score, though some of the riffs are tricky enough that it's hard to get 100%. I'd say it's pretty comparable to the Rocky Dawuni in terms of difficulty, but I'd put it at advanced rather than intermediate just to avoid getting too many people advanced up a class just because of they type of song it is (with most of the difficulty compressed into a very small percentage of the notes).

one of my fav ´tallica tracks of all time, and my playing even sounded a bit like the song (!)

not a single one of the 20" - e bends registers, - anyone a hint how to play those.

 

If my warlock wasn´t so stringless, i´d floyd rose those...

@@Rodman the 20s on my E are my biggest problem.

I switch to the neck on the solo and I boosted my gain from 5-8 on the cable for this.

I warm up on the Epiphone with a set of .12s then play it again on the Dean with a set of .09s and it feels like spaghetti.

my biggest missing section is the sweep and the crawl down the the 5 on the E. Need to RR those.

Not bad, haven't learned all the solo yet and there's a few other areas to practice up a bit, aiming for 95% by weeks end.

 

Going to give Metallica rhythm a go as well this week, my first attempt at a masterclass song :)

Same here, i can't get those damn bends to register, even if i hit the right pitch, Rocksmith is still giving me a big MISS

I have never been able to get any bends that high to register.  as soon as i bend it just a little Rocksmith stops detecting it. (you can see the string getting highlighted when you hit the note)

I said it before, bends are tricky, you are young, so you have still some time to learn them properly :lol:

Yeah but I tried unisono bends too and I'm having just as much difficulty, it's frustrating but it's a small percentage of notes(the 20 bends before the crawl down is the biggest problem I get).

I transposed most of the B20s down to E15 and thats not bad but not good

 

EDIT apparently I can't words today, what I'm trying to say is that it is not reading 100% but not 0% either

Evening score update from me. I were practicing solo today (1-5 mistakes up to 80 speed), got result below and became so happy that continued by playing session mode like a mad :) I think that is a first time I've scored more than a million, it seems only CS can make do that.

Kalltoloo update! Version 2.3 (N-DD 2.3) --> many changes on lead and rythm arrangement pretty thanks to the great for providing help. No changes on bass as yet from v2.2... 

 

Sorry dude @then3verend you might have to relearn some parts as changes are notable haha
