Will there ever be .gpx support for EoF?

The short answer is probably no, unless somebody else writes that program logic. In the mean time, you can use Shrubbery's Tux Guitar build, which has GPX support:

You can then simply open the GPX file in Tux Guitar, save it as GP5 and use it in EOF.
