I didn't think that 100% would actually stick because the song was so simple but then again, I'm not a beginner anymore, so probably not totally fair. Well, I play only for fun anyways, so let's see what I can manage this week. :D

@@Aludog - did you want to be in the beginner class? From what I remember it was your first week and you entered scores in beginner, intermediate, and advanced so you can choose whichever of those you feel best fits your skill level (the advanced song was rated more as a harder intermediate than a true advanced song, though).

 

Anyway, here's my first attempt with no RR or anything.

http://i.imgur.com/y1s3rRA.jpgNot terribly difficult for the most part (especially by Symphony X standards - of the ones I've played I think only Dehumanized is easier), though I'll definitely need some practice on the fill leading into the first verse and the tapping section near one of the choruses, and I wouldn't expect to 100% it this one. Also, did I see pinch harmonics or something in that fill leading into the verse?

AND WITH THESE WINGS, WE'LL SET THE WORLD ON FIRE!!!!!!!

@@albatross213 I don't really care about my class, tbh. I would say I'm intermediate to advanced but I don't mind playing easier stuff if it's more fun for me. Masterclass is not for me, that's for sure but other than that, I'm good to go. :D

I couldn't try Shivaree because my file conversion didn't work.  I may give it another go, if I get time.

 

I didn't try Megadeth because I wanted to spare my fingers.

 

I had to try Them Crooked Vultures…  I got 84%.  Looks like I've got work to do this week. :)  

23 Weeks later I just notice that the difficulty rating is implemented into the leaderboard...I like it

Totally butchered the tapping, but otherwise pretty good.

Aludog scored 100% on Beginner, so it is level up to Intermediate. And his scores on songs rated 5 and 6 (so both Int's) were below 99.5%, so Int is good for him. For now :)

 

 

Shivaree is really nice. Great for beginners, more songs like that in that class in Song Selection List would make my life easier :)

Damn, I totally should have kept my Hazy Shade secrets to myself. :lol:  Oh well! Well played Motive, song was tricky.

 

Now this week's advanced is a lot more to my playing style. I love everything Josh Homme does. Used to play the hell out of this in my Rock Band days on the drums, now apparently I can play it pretty convincingly on the axe, too!

It was not so easily to get 100% bcs of random miss at chords (very sensitive the pressure to strings at first frets).

Nice tune, and cuty voice. Got same fillings like of Metric. :)

@@Gamut Sorry, im used your advice and found good pattern for strumming and yet it was big luck, so how other runs was not so good. I promise if i found some helpful tricks in future, i tell it there.

And of course I've gotta play my pick. I used to use this song to psyche myself up in the morning on the walk to high school. Most of it's really playable for me, but then the solo happens.

I try to keep one or two, but I've been having a lot of trouble finding stuff to request lately(tab sucks, sync is bad, no rr, etc.)

Yeah - from my fav Mdeth album, great song, at least i got that in my head pretty accurately... Cant wait to get my hands on it guitarwise.... Though quite afraid cause taking your first score - mine will be 60-70....
