@@then3verend - Were you able to do the bends at all in that tuning? Because I can't imagine the tension on the strings there.

 

And I don't have anything saved up. I was pissed off enough at the random BS misses (seriously, go to the most recent video and look and listen at 4:30) that were cropping up that I figured it would be better to just wait and see, and if you managed to do this you'd deserve it. Congrats.

A very fancy way to say i tuned the other three strings up a whole step and left the E string alone

I couldn't just leave the G up, there were some very weird positions that created within the middle part of the song, this tuning actually made some parts easier. I believe some people have used this tuning before...but youd have to dig DEEP

I'm used to playing E std with .13's but yeah there was some tension for sure...

I think I missed the 23 bends but the 21 bend it gave to me

Grr...you're right too, makes sense in the E Scale...

but I was thinking more of it being G std(which brace yourselves for tension if you ever have to tune that high) drop F, and then making it flat

I tend to prefer minors and darker tones in music, and Flats are more common in the Xylophone(Mallets) world mostly because Bb is a common scale, so I usually use and think in terms of flats vs. sharps.

 

I love music and guitar theory, I think it should be a mandatory class in the states(at least music theory)

I highly recommend any guitarist/bassist at or around the advanced level to at least have basic knowledge of it.

I can only speak for myself, but there were basically two components.

 

1) A ridiculous amount of practice. 

 

2) Strong incentives to practice.
