Hi everybody,

I'm completely new here, I just bought the game today and started downloading some of your awesome CDLC songs.

Since I didn't play the guitar, I played a bit official songs which I knew are gradually increasing the difficulty. I played Cemetery Gates from Pantera, and everything went well up until I reached the part where the guitar has distortion. The sound was aweful and it clearly wasn't the normal distortion sound. I tried some of the CDLCs I downloaded, and everytime I hit a part with distortion, it was the exact same type (still horrible).

Do any of you have the same issues and maybe a fix ? I guess I'll have to play without the sound of my own guitar until then.

FYI I tweaked the .ini file a bit since I had the crackling issue at first (where you can't even hear the guy telling you to try out the guitar before you're able to get to the menu for the first time). Here a copy of my tweaks :

[Audio]
EnableMicrophone=1
ExclusiveMode=1
LatencyBuffer=9
ForceDefaultPlaybackDevice=
ForceWDM=0
ForceDirectXSink=0
Win32UltraLowLatencyMode=0
DumpAudioLog=0
MaxOutputBufferSize=1
[Renderer.Win32]
ShowGamepadUI=0
ScreenWidth=0
ScreenHeight=0
Fullscreen=2
VisualQuality=1
RenderingWidth=0
RenderingHeight=0
EnablePostEffects=1
EnableShadows=1
EnableHighResScope=1
EnableDepthOfField=1
EnablePerPixelLighting=1
MsaaSamples=4
DisableBrowser=0
[Net]
UseProxy=1

Btw, is there some way to chose a gradually increasing difficulty on CDLC tracks? It's kinda hard to learn a song from scratch without it, expecially with a solo part etc. :P

Thanks alot for any help !

The game runs now smoothly and I think there's actually no lag (yay!) BUT I still have this distortion trouble. Should I maybe record something so you guys can see what I mean ?

What do you mean with grounded? I'm sorry, I don't know a lot of technical terms ^^

When I play Cemetery Gates for instance, there's the clean part at the beginning which sounds fine, just like the original song, and as soon as there is the distortion part, my guitar sound really awful, nothing like the original song.

I think I'll upload a video on Youtube to show you guys what I mean, it's really weird I can't quite explain it.

Edit: I really don't get it... all of a sudden it works perfectly fine. I'd like to know how and why, but I'll take it. Well thanks any way!
