Big Gun - when I played it 1st time on lead, riff took me off guard. 2nd time (on rhythm) it was not difficult at all, it became second nature. Bass is just that riff, with time, you're get it. I believe in you :)

 

I was talking about BOC and Morisette, because CIties on Flame has one tricky fast part that repeats, while on Morisette bass is more complex and I felt that it'll be much harder to make it sound properly. @ and @ are welcome to comment :)

I rather wanted to rest for a while... maybe I can just check those twos

you oghta know is always the same with a couple of fills, not really hard and I heard one wrong note.

cities in flame is way harder to play, not the whole song but some spots are though cause it's speed. Any strange notes are there.

So in my opinion the BOC song should be MC and AM Adv

Sorry about that. Actually my previous attempt I also scored a 99.36%, and was going to post it and the associated video until I realized @@then3verend beat me on the streak. So I did another attempt to see if I could beat him, and...

 

@@NoonyDeloony - I found a karaoke version that seems like it might actually be the original audio minus the vocal track. There are sites that can take audio from youtube videos, so it shouldn't be too hard for someone with a little technical know-how to make an instrumental CDLC. I might try to do it myself if it's not done by someone else by Wednesday.

Wellllll, time to get started on this week.

 

With guitars on lead, there seems to be some weird intermittent volume fluctuations in the signal.  I tried different cables and guitars.  Here's what I have for a first hour of work on Munich. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=444774420

Edit: well now I think I'm just going crazy or something, because Its recognizing notes now on Cities on Flame....

 

So basically I was playing Cities on Flame trying to get the 100% and I was consistently missing the same note over and over and over, Idk how or why, It aggravated and pissed me off. Any explanations would be great

Big gun is a fun song but it is pretty easy. BOC vs. You Oughta Know, honestly they're very close skill wise overall. BOC is fast and a bit tricky in spots because of it, but the main riff never deviates and fingering/hand position is pretty easy. You Oughta Know has more techniques needed; mutes, slides, string skipping, a rogue pop.. etc. but the chorus is far easier. I'd give the MC to You Oughta Know by a hair, it's takes more practice to make it sound good... it's tougher for me anyway 

very cool that almost everybody enjoys big gun that much....

 

I think there is gonna be quite some ACDC in the SSL in the future ;)

... cant wait to get my hands on it myself.... hopefully this evening!

alright, so this is my first time participating in this and i didn't figure out all the rules yet, but here's my first attempt at doing Big Gun (difficulty set at maximum and on learn a song cause i wasn't sure about getting through the solo). I'm gonna try to get that number higher this week :)

Yeah, you're pretty much free to decide between the different classes for your first week. Based on how people have rated it and performed on it so far, Big Gun is a legit advanced song so if you can score 82% on it your first time through you should fit in advanced just fine. If you post more scores others will probably be able to advise you better.

@@supername In the beginning you get to choose the level you get to compete into based on what you feel like your skill level is.

 

If you think Advanced isnt too easy but isnt too hard then I would post those screenshots :)
