I don't know about basses. White Shirt is MC because it's slap all the time and slap is hard. Thus I felt that Shirt should be MC. Both GazettE and Coheed have tough basses, advanced-quality, so we can swap some places if needed.

 

Cassis was long time in a making. I got it selected for Beginner ( :lol: ) months ago, since then I was waiting for it and now we have it. (Not to say that I had it listed for Advanced, though I think it is MC).

 

Weird week, this gonna be.

I even watched the video of Cassis and they remind me to a german teenie band called Tokyo Hotel <_<

Your white shirt would be a very easy MC, but if you're not familar with slap bass it's a great practice song.

Yeah, I felt that because it's almost exclusive to slap, it should bump difficulty up. I could make RS register notes when playing with pick, but it does not sound right. From time to time we can try to be pro :lol:

Seems in a song by Nirvana is wrong chords. 3 section second  appearance row of chords "A" wrong sounds. Anyone hear it?

I honestly don't remember picking The Crowing but apparently I have :huh:  I don't think I've even got it in my CDLC files, and I have a fair few Coheed... I don't recognise the tune either. Bizarre. I must've been drunk!

This was my first run, without slapping.

So, not really valid i would say ;P

After that i got in a 2hour journey for learning slapping with the bass, and i got it

down fairly quickly. Im just not fast enough yet, so here with slapping:

i gave the weird looking japanese boys song a run too.

Seemed fairly easy, beside that weird bridge/chorus-thingy part. 

The song itself is ok. Not bad but not really ground breaking either.

Well, I'm pretty terrible at slapping on the higher strings (I've done things like Antipop reasonably well, but otherwise haven't done much slapping), so it's a good thing I'm not in the masterclass! I'll probably try to improve at that technique because of that reminder, though.

 

Played both the intermediate and advanced ones. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to hit 100% eventually on either of them, but I'll probably keep doing random/stupid misses. I'd probably rate the C&C song as slightly more difficult because of that passage in the middle, but I don't feel very strongly about it at this point.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thing the Lead "Sweeping" section of Cassis isnt tabbed correctly, I think that's played on two strings. My first reason is that near the end of the first section there is some HUGE jumps from 12 to 19 and that's uncommon in sweeps, second is that I've tried on the bottom two strings and it not only sounds better but there is no huge skips.

Ahh my long term memory is only covers between 1977 and 1998 so that'll 'splain it :)

@ please, make video with hands at slap bass. Don`t know how play it, sounds terrible with my sound. 

i listen song  and not sure that all notes playing with slap technique, most notes sounds enough clear at low strings.

 

@@Mortalo If so unlike ska, then i now understood why  my selection a songs still yet not choiced more than 2 months.  :lol:

@@NoonyDeloony For my bass line same, unlike, first and yet one sections bass guitar play in other scale then guitar and sounds awful, like detune, and terrible boring rhythm, second half of the song primitive rows of similar one notes. 

@ Each to their own taste I guess :)... Pretty sure some Ska was chosen just a couple of weeks ago. I don't think there's any conspiring to not have any Ska chosen unless the machines have risen and the RNG has a vendetta for Ska and prefers Prog, ;)

Okay so on Cassis, its definitely 3 stringed, but I think there are WAY more notes than there should be.

@ I take tour to exercise lesson RS about slap, and seems in your chart on D string must be pops, not slaps?

@ pops are all on G string I mean except the intro, but let's see what the video says. Already uploading

I like this version of "The Man Who Sold the World" although DB's is just classic. Reminds me of being a kid and sitting in my mates house listening to a LOT of grunge and sneakily smoking out the window :D.

 

Not keen on The Gazette, though I like the music, just the singer doesn't sound quite the right fit for the style, the tune's good but I dunno... something's not right.

Anyone know any official RS  a songs with slap bass, but not very complicated ?

Don't know any of these songs this week. Will be interesting.
