prevously good cdlc now wont launch after update

been playing a few cdlcs for around a year but now I have downloaded the updates for them they wont play in "learn a song" or "non stop play" modes. as someone who knows little about computers can anyone offer simple solutions

Be sure you remove the old ones. The internal names cannot be the same or you will have this problem. The filenames may be different but if they are packed with the same name then this will happen.

Thanks, in truth I didn't delete the old before downloading the new . I guess I need to delete the ones that now don't work and the old file and then re-download the update?

No just delete the old CLDC versions "example 1.0" leaving new version example 2.0 in CLDC folder and re launch RS. In other words if you have "Happy Birthday 1.0_P.PSARC" and "Happy Birthday 2.0_P.PSARC" then remove the first version and restart rocksmith. If that still does not work and other CDLC is OK you may need to repack the latest version with the Cherub Rock song ID.
