@@Mortalo - what is special about the hybrid strings???

They were not available around, so i never cared and use eb slinkies, now the hybrid slinkies are available in a shop(!) nearby, so i could give them a shot - whats the difference???

Going to post my scores in a little bit. Missed last week because I thought it ended/switched on Mondays >< Whoops.

 

Quick question: Alot of these songs i'm getting in the 90's but whats holding me from getting high 90's is ALWAYS the solo's.

I feel like i'm a great guitar player (Not terrible) but every song has the ONE part (mostly the solos) that I just completely wiff.

Whats a good way to learn to tackle these solo's?? for example ...And Justice For All. That song is fun/easy to play until I hit the solo.

Then it's like they amped up the difficulty level x10 for like a 30 second solo. Ugh ><

learn the solos piece by piece in RR at a for you playable speed first, then increase the speed. After all try the whole solo at first also at slow tempo until it feels secure, then faster and so on.

Anyway, I have a new nut, but it was bought on a local shop, and for a change the shop didn't had what I needed, so I had to buy one much "taller" in height and thicker in length, only the width is correct, so I need to file it down, but I'm waiting for a friend to lend me the proper tools, so since 2 weeks ago I can't play any song (on guitar) that's not in E Standard.

 

 

 

What is the proper tool?  I've bought some nuts off Ebay - none of them actually fit, and I want to put heavier strings on my bass, so I was just going to use my Dremel to adjust one, or all five - by the time I get it right :).

@@Rodman Hybrids are thinier on high strings and thicker on low strings. Example: .09-.46 - .09,.11,.16 and .26,.36,.46. So it's mix of .09-.42 at high strings and .10-.46 at low strings. It allows for tune to drop tunings, still having thin strings at high, for easier bends. There is also .10-.52's for even lower tunings.

You want to play Supremacy by Muse? Hybrid strings are your best friend.

Well, I can't answer for sure, because only tomorrow I'm gonna get them from my friend. He knows a lot about repairing guitars and basses, so when this happened, I just called him and told him that the nut I got from the store was much bigger and didn't fit, which he replied "The 1st weekend that I go home, I'll give you a call and show you how to do it"... that's this weekend, so if all goes well, tomorrow I'll let you know what he used to do the job.

I'm still playing the old version from Bernixix, for me it's a good one, no wrong parts nor deviation compared with music.

Just many tiny details to consider. As long as in Nachos version are still parts not correct (I didn't test) I will stay with this version, really no matter to change , I'm close behind you, Nacho, watch out

IMPROVEMENT!!!!! Still gunning for that top spot. 

My remastered version has some changes, like the intro (the first measures were from James arrangement), some changes on the pre-choruses, an the solo is a little bit easier to play. But no problem if you want to stick with the older version!

I'd like to know as well. Nacho's version is amazing for the bass chart. So clean, so nice, so playable but it's substantially different than what was picked...

Still under the weather, but had to try out @@Nacholede 's version of Justice:

Much easier to play (at least in my opinion, went from 95% on the other to 98% here), and to me it sounds much more accurate.  Although I'm not enough of an expert to say that definitively.  Still, thanks much for the revision Nacho -- I definitely prefer yours to the original/other one.

 

Only negative thing that I would say is that the bass tone is too overdriven/distorted to me, but that is a pretty subjective thing and very easily remedied with a tone switch.  I switched to a loud but clean tone, EQ'd pretty heavy to the low end to give it some muddiness (plus turned my tone knob down), and it blends in great to my ear.
