I'm trying to make my first CDLC, and have chosen this tab....

to give it a go with. Unfortunately it is in a gpx format.

 

While there is a bass section in that online player, and when I open it in Go Playalong there is a bass section, it the section becomes blank when the file is converted to gp5 using TuxGuitar or the online converter.

 

Is there a way I can convert the files from gpx to gp5 without losing the bass?

It may be worth contacting the support for the online GPX converter, maybe it's a bug they can fix or they may be able to explain if there's a limitation (ie. if it's authored in a way that isn't possible to do in Guitar Pro 5). Otherwise maybe something with Guitar Pro 6 or newer could try to convert it for you. If all else fails, you can just display the tab and manually enter it into EOF.
