I have everything on default and have tried shift + F5 but no content is loading on ignition search.

Can you try pressing "reset"

By reset do you mean the default settings button, because I have tried that with the same results.

It looks like a Refresh button. It's right next to the Search Form, right to the right of the Magnifying Glass hope this helps!
