I'm back from a week in the Andaman Sea in Southern Thailand, and ready for bass action!  Here's first tries back in the saddle:

 

Beginner Bass:

Yep.  Boring on bass.  Both guitar gods, but Satriani tends to have a bit more fun bass stuff to go along with the lead madness.

 

Int Bass:

Still very easy, much more fun on the bass side.

 

Adv Bass:

Don't know the song (or band), didn't want to tune down.  I'll get around to it at some point.

 

MC Bass:

Not a valid score because that solo section jumped up and caught me unawares, and leveled down that first section.  I'll play again and get a proper (but probably not great) score.

this is my first time here. I hope I can enjoy this beautiful championship. I am much better at rhythm than lead (can't make super fast solos :D), so here goes my attempt at Can I play with madness (I tried it last night :-) ).

Beginner Lead - 100%

 

Beginner Rythm - 100%

 

 

Intermediate Lead - 90,1%

 

 

Advanced Lead - 95,55%

 

Advanced Rythm - 95,94%

 

 

Masterclass Lead - 73,2%

 

Masterclass Bass - 98,32%

 

 

To be honest I didn't want to bother more than once with Deathray :)

Never heard of "For the love of God" before and really loved it! I hated that you would need a 24 fret  tho :)

My first tries on the songs:

 

KKK took my baby away

okay song. im not a big fan of the ramones, but this ones great for beginners for endurance training.

 

Deathreay cool song, but i wont play it again, way to low tuning for my strings. But i think i will definietly try to hear into the band ;)

 

Can i Play with Madness

Again, no big fan of Iron Maiden, but this one seems kind of way too easy for them. I personally think its too easy for Int, but thats just my opinion.

For the Love of God

The name says it all, this is one big mother of a song and i dont know if i have enought time this week to play it above 90-92%.

Really great song, and im looking forward to see some awesome scores from the other MC Lead players.

Do anyone here know of any good online lessons for playing powerchords in drop tunings?  For some reason i cant quite learn to do it the right way. I miss lots of notes and i don't even know why.

I suck at standard tuning powerchords to. But here i can both feel and hear the problem. I'm just to slow and imprecise.

Well my new guitar arrived but I am sending it back, really poor quality all round and also not the size stated in the write up... But that's what you get for a no brand piece of kit. Looking into getting another les Paul like my old one instead which is going to take a few months of saving and not eating for a while :) hohum...

Guess who forgot to load up her scores on Friday?  Ah, well, good job I'm not taking this too seriously...

 

It wasn't much of an improvement anyway, and certainly no 100%'ers.

I know i can get a better score, i'll keep trying to improve this and Devin Townsend and try Iron Maiden :)

Came home exhausted but really in the mood to guitar, luckily the mood was enough to overpower the fatigue and I bumped my scores up a bit.

I'd like to aim to that as well with FTLOG but I think I can't manage to do that, Sometimes it doesn't detect the notes I'm playing, I don't know why.

Yeah, i keep doing this week after week cause i think its a great motivation to keep playing each week, see the progress and know whom you are competing against on the long run...
