This week is a little different. I scrapped random and decided to have more of a personal aproach.

 

Beginner:  The Beatles - Twist and Shout (Chosen by the genius of George, John, Paul and Ringo )

When I was young I didn't liked The Beatles. You know, I was a boy, playing video games, watching JCVD or Arnold, rooting for Rescue Squad led by squirrels. How could I like love songs sung by British? Now, I can admire the guitar work and crazy bass lines. I wanted to select Beatles for this week, as they're one of the most impressive bands, with lots of great songs. This one is fast, tricky and I like it. I hope you will like it as well :)

Intermediate: Johnny Hallyday - Allumer le Feu (Chosen by @@steroma )

You wanted Elvis Presley? You got one! Well, at least the French Elvis Presley! If you're french speaking person you should be familiar with one of the biggest French RockStars.
Song is really fun to play, with hard solo, and it just fits that Beg bass and rhythm I needed for this week. Sorry Int Leads.

 

Advanced: Iron Maiden - No More Lies (Chosen by @@Joey )

@@Joey is a big part of Championship. He was there when most of us started this adventure. As a man who took over his work, I felt that it'll be great to have him select one of this weeks songs. And he didn't let us down with this fantastic choice!
 

Masterclass: Dream Theater - Octavarium (Chosen by @@Nacholede )

I will tell you a story of a young kid. That kid was a big fan of Octavarium. But when Organizer noticed that he wants this song to be selected, said "no, it's too long". But kid didn't want to let it go. He traveled sea, air, space and time. He reached the Organizer, he begged. But he got a task. A quest, to find the Octavarium. Kid dind't waste any time. He started that dangerous adventure. He traveled around the world, he fought the deadliest monsters, listened to the crappiest music, but couldn't find it. And then it struck him. Octavarium was not far away. It was close. It was in his heart! Organizer seeing kid's love towards that song, decided to approve it and select for week 50.
Maybe that's not exactly what happened, but it's almost true :P

So competition beg lead is on earlier this week, eh ;)

I'm definitely in - looks like the beatles could be dragging us to intermediate on a 99+ cause you are already close, and i wont stop until lead or saturday :)

You were right about the 99+ :)  = Beginner Lead - 99.33%

 

The "solo" is harder than it sounds and once someone masters it, we might see a 100% before the end of the week.

Tried again and was able to improve a little bit...

 

Beginner Rhythm - 99.05%

Intermediate Lead - 94.85%

 

Fun lead part. Almost didn't make it though :)

 

 

Beginner Lead - 98.23%

nailed the solo on my above try, just some sloppies at the G chord, damn the score was quite perfect cause beginner still feels alright, wtf challenge on, but first....

In better fettle than last week so hoping to get some scores up that are leaderboard worthy. RS decided to crash before I got my screenshot of Iron maiden score and I've not had time to practice DT so here's the one screenie I got for "Beginner" http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=322990459 

 

I did play through Twist and Shout but that's going to take some practice for me, not played properly over the last few days and I'm reeeeally rusty. Iron Maiden was easier in comparison to the Beatles on bass imo. I have a fine view of The Beatles home, Liverpool, from my house :D Always nice to have some fab four, although Paul McCartney can fook right off with his brilliant, briilliant, bass playing, banana fingered, hands ;)

Really not my cup of tea. One playthrough is enough for me, to maintain my diehard status.

 

 

So, I'll concentrate on advanced or int bass this week.  I haven't played the Maiden song before, but I have tried Twist and Shout -- I would rate it as being pretty high difficulty.  To me it feels like an advanced or even MC level song on bass.  I'll try the Iron Maiden and see which one feels tougher, but offhand it seems like Twist and Shout should be higher than Int.

Not sure if it's fair to ask but, can I be levelled down? MC I do try but I don't think my ability reflects MC. Not even sure what level I would be now advanced has come in to play tbh. Thought it would be worth asking as I don't see myself scoring anymore points in mc if I have only accrued 3 in 10 weeks as an active player.

@@NoonyDeloony I checked leaderboard. And not sure that good idea. If you leveled down, you always will win, and not stay chance for other participants, you have enough skill for MC (may be only not enough time for practice). But if @@Rodman, @Hobenbet not mind, so i`m too not mind leveled down.

p.s. An example @@Mortalo, too a lot time played  in int lead and have only 4 points. Because there is a big competition.

Tried the MC bass last night.... in my opinion it's a bad choice for challenge. It's too long if you don't know the song (like me). And then it's absolutely no fun because of the worse bass tone. It's only distortion and amp, no speakers, sounds terrible, sorry. First I thought it's guitar tone, but loaded in sound designer showed me it's realy bass.  I think the tone needs a better amp, NO distortion, maybe little bit by increase the amp gain, compressor would be nice and good speakers. But actually it's a torture for my ears over 20 min :wacko: .

Maybe with a better tone I will try again.
