Yeah I know it sucks and its pathetic

Freaking rockskmith cable died on me :(  just for nothing, no bad usage, around 600hs + of play.

Now waiting for a feels forever ebay purchase to arrive, no rs cable over here..

Anyone else had issues with the cable?

Its been a long time since I used CF forum, good to be back

Cheers

Hasn't happened to me yet but I should probably get a spare incase someone else comes over to play or it dies on me too.

Cool mod.  I need to figure out how to do that with my macbook air.

As for the broken cable, don't toss it.  It shouldn't be too hard to fix with a soldering iron.

I use a morley ABY switch, it lets me use my own amplifier so i have zero lag, and my RS cable is safely tucked away out of harms way.

Real tone cable just arrived :)

I think this thing is pretty bad quality, maybe I can fix the broken one so I have a spare.

The mod seems interesting to.

Don't know if it's this way at all stores but the Gamestop in my area isn't allowed to sell realtone cables on their own.  Called them looking to get a second one and they happened to have one that someone brought in, "we can't sell it, but if you want it come and pick it up".  5 bucks in gas beats 30 for a cable any day.

That's weird because EB Games (owned by Gamestop) sells them here in Canada for $29.99.  Amazon.ca sells them as well for the same price.

I bought my spare cable on Kijiji, which is like Craigslist, for $10.

My cable didn't die but caused much extra noise "crackling". Tried to fix, didn't succeed.

Think issue was in "adapter box", now have two cables, 2 can play and/or spare for me.

Also covered expensive Rocksmith wire with y cable so can use amp and will not broke Rocksmith cable's end so easily now.

I use my Rocksmith 1 cable, my Rocksmith 2014 cable never worked correctly.

It's the exact same cable so it might be related to a production series that went wrong and it's an Ubisoft related issue that might deserve to be reported to them directly.

It's almost the exact same cable.  The only difference is that the original line of RS1 cables don't support USB 3.0.

I gotta admit I use the youtube videos when I dont want to fire up the rig. Just drives me crazy to have three guitars playing.

I bought a generic cable after my legit cable died with less than 50 hours of gentle use.  The crap cable I got of Amazon is certainly no worse than the original sound wise.  It feels cheap, but I don't really care about that for RS.

My friend fixed my real tone cable solding the jack from the cable. I had the same issue several times but it's pretty easy to fix

Now it's working very well!
